Week 1 --- 2019 --- The Other Finals !

Geelong need to get some pace and flair into their side. Scott Selwood should do the trick.

Still shaking my head at Collingwood.

Start of round 23 they are no chance, then West Coast implode and gift them a top four spot against the most vulnerable side, now they are in the box seat for a grand final berth.
Totally agree TBR. This is sickening me to the bone. Worse than last year. I reckon if we lose tonight, it'll be a Scum v Brisbane GF with the Scum a better chance to win than against WC last season.

And good for them, they are taking their chances as they present. What they've done well is run back into form as the finals approached after have a shyte couple of months.

I think both Geelong and Brisbane are the pretenders in the top four but we'll see tonight.
We bust our gut to get to where we are and now have to go interstate, while they just have someone open the door for them and walk in. Luck.

With Collingwood's magoos missing finals, anyone they bring in for the prelim will not have played for at least 4 weeks. On top of a few of their other underdones.

if we lose we are still in it, make no mistake Zips.
Would prefer to win it though.

If we lose we end up in Collingwood's half of the draw not West Coast's.
There is a super sparkly silver lining to an honourable loss.

I remember reading that they have organised a VFL scratch match against one of the other mobs

They played Geelong last night at the Lexus centre.
Collingwoods best, OBree, Lockyer & Beatheas
Geelongs best, Malakalies, Bos & McCrabb

Ah.

So what you're saying is they temporarily got over the top of us, but ultimately, we have the better club, culture, administration and list, so we will be better in the long run.

Sounds like something someone else said...

No, I’m saying that trends in football can occur within games, over 2-3 games, over two months and so on.

The magpies got us by the end of last year. They had the answer in the game of Rock Paper Scissors.

We were running with the 2017 plan and they worked us out.

This time round we are on the ascendant. Key structural additions in Soldo and Lynch. The maggies may think they have a nice bit of momentum going, but the two month trend for them suggests otherwise.

We have been building since the bye and don’t look like stopping.

Geelong and Collingwood both beating us earlier in the year seems like a lifetime ago.
