Hi Guys
I am looking at buying a TV that comes with a free PS3. Some NEWB questions...
1. Am I correct in assuming the only difference between a PS3 160 GB and a PS3 320 GB is the size of the hard drive? Does this affect game play in any way?
2. I am actually more interested in the Blue-Ray player. Is it good, ie. doesn't have any major limitations? I now F***all about Blue-Ray.
3. I have heard you cannot copy games for these things. Not really a big issue for me, prefer my computer, but just wondered if that was true.

1. Yeah it's just a larger drive. Won't affect game play in any way at all!
2. Are you asking whether blu ray is good? Or whether the blu ray in the PS3 is good? Because Blu ray itself is very good! Love watching just sitting in awe how good some parts of movies look!
3. You can't copy games for them, but you may be able to get it chipped which could let you copy the games, but you wouldn't be able to play online, you would get banned straight away.

Regarding question 2, I meant the Blue-Ray player in the PS3 being good quality. I was going to ask if I could get just a Blue-Ray player instead of the PS3, if people thought the PS3 might not be that good a quality.

No worries!
There is no difference I can see. I would go with the PS3 but just ask and see what the salesmen think, they might have a better insight! But i'm not sure whether you can get a blu ray instead of the PS3's though. I think you might have to stick with the PS3 anyway!

the ps3 is a pretty good blu-ray player. very quick boot times compared to stand alone players and because of the success of the ps3 as a console sony are always updating the console throuh firmware updates which means they can add 3d compatability etc. its a a very safe bet and not a bad way to dip your toe in the water.
btw i bought myself a ps3 on the weekend purely for gran turismo 5. what a game!!!!!!!!! so i'll have a near new ps3 to sell in a few weeks

gt5 truly is the real driving simulator
no loud doofing music and unrealistic power slides in this baby. the cars sound and handle like the real things and the graphics are just beautiful. the b spec is a bit of fun too

My son thinks GT5 is the best thing ever.
Mind you, he has only just graduated from internet kid games.
