2k11 is pretty dope. The vintage rosters are such a good idea, Larry Bird in the short shorts and the porno mo is superb. The biggest thing for me is how the shooting styles of the player differ. Bird has that herky-jerky release with his jumper, Bill Cartwright holds is over his head for ever and the moves that they have Micheal Jordan doing are spot on. The up fake with the right stick where he palms the ball is gold.

There are not many fast breaks and it isn't easy just to score at will. I like that. Also rekcon the AI is much better, if you are a guard and switch on a pick and roll to guard the big guy, the other team will clear out down low and allow you to be posted up. If you double they pick the right pass to the most dangerous spot. In other NBA games you could just switch and not got punished. It's off the charts.

Did it take you long Scoop to get used to shooting? I started off by having 70%of my shots falling short. Very frustrating. I have worked it out a bit better now but this is the BEST basketball game i have ever played. ( I was an EA fan until I tried this)

Still not used to it, haven't spent enough time on it. I still was using sqaure a bit. I do like the jump stop move, with Magic Johnson you get some great spin moves. I am struggling on foul shots.

If someone picks up black ops tomorrow, can they tell me if it is better than MW2. That game had so many flaws it wasn't funny!

OK, looks like I'll have to buy a PS3. NOw, where are the best deals and are there any ad ons I need to purchase with it.

Don't know about add ons, but I would look at eBay, although I don't think alot of people like buying things like that from there. But you can find some really good deal if you look enough!

Can you buy consoles from Amazon? And is there a difference between Aust and overseas versions of PS3's?

I don;t think you can buy any from Amazon, otherwise you need to get all games from America. All games are region coded we are "PAL" region 4, America is region 1 or 2 some you would need to get all games from America. So make sure if you are buying on eBay that the console is from Australia!

There are some pretty good deals for PS3's around ATM.

I got mine cheap from JB (a discontinued 120GB slimine version).

Games can be very cheap from Ebay too.

Good move JB, they are a multimedia dream.

Buy a external hard drive so you can have TV shows and movies downloaded and then watch them through the PS3. I send shows to the hard drive and then watch on the big screen.

Set up so you can play people online as well.

not true mate

ps3s are NOT region locked for games however they are for dvd/bluray playback.

if that doesn't bother you the only prob with a us ps3 would be the power supply. the yanks use 110v and we use 240v so unless you use a stepdown converter you'll blow your console.

you can source a ps3 from asia for less money and they are dual voltage 110/240v but they will also be region locked for dvd and BR (region 2 for dvd region A for bluray) playback so unless you are using it for gaming only thats not really an option

Sorry, i'm used to the xbox. Our games are region locked, just thought it was the same for Xbox and PS3

Black Ops breaks sales records!! :eek: :eek: :eek:

In the first 24 hours of going on sale, the game sold more than 5.6 million copies in the U.S. and U.K., breaking the record set by its predecessor Modern Warfare 2 by some 900,000 copies.

just noticed that NBA Jam is being released on Wii and Ps3. I used to love this game. Quite possibly a good buy at $45 when its released this month ;D
