VFL 1st Qualifying Final V Essendon

Coleman Jones, if you were comparing him to a player who is like Honeybun? Ottens? Simmons’s Or Staffford??
Or is he in the class of Grundy, Gawn or Jacobs??
(I didn’t get to any Reserves games this year)

Great photos waiting, how did Richo pull up after playing in the EJ Whitten game?

Tigerman I didn’t want to ask him.

Just a lively human being, great with the kids, was there with his wife & child, huge smiles all round!

I didn’t want to start a seperate thread since people would be coming on here to read about the game!

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads today. Get spoilt.

To all those who are missing their dad, like me, thinking of you dad today.

And to those who are not dads spoil your dad.

We and they can have a huge influence in the men we become.

Happy Fathers Day

Picket moves like Andrew Mcleod but his kicking is inconstant, butchered a few kicks in the second half.

To put that win in to some perspective, in the entire history of the VFL/AFL (firsts) there have only been four higher three-quarter time leads that were not enough to win the game.

Wonder how many of those were in a final.

I seriously dont know which 4 will miss out

On the bench we have our Captain Morro & 3 Vice Captains-JB, Silver & Beas'

If I had to guess I think its going to be Coff out along with Ben Miller , Silver & JB

Tough calls to make
Dont like quoting my own posts but I believe it was a mistake to leave ,JB, Beas & Silver out

Confusion reigned in our backline without Beasley, and apart from our last 1/4 we were flogged inside , exactly where JB & Silver reign

Ben Miller was horrid & will be VERY lucky to keep his spot for the prelim

All things aside was a great day

is silver Silvestro Taz?

If so, I agree.

Hes super hard at it and stood up last year in the capitulation

my highlight yesterday was when towner buried that bloke near the interchange, got reported, and did a verbal Robbie muir on the ump.

his eyes were rolling in his head.

it would be great to have towner on your side

Everyone can thank me for that win yesterday. I watched the first three quarters and then had to go do something, no coverage on the radio so I lost contact with the game the spell was broken and they got rolling and smoked the druggies in the last. Will try and find the replay of that last quarter as those first three were horrible to watch. I thought Cujo was great up to 3/4, he looks a player.

The player Towner smashed was Jake Long who all day had been harassing and belting guys off the ball. Was acting like a real prick and Towner lined him up. He kept playing but hardly went near the ball after that. He was also the guy that Moore caught HTB in the last.

Anyone would think they have not only stolen our footy department staff and I.P..... They've knocked of zippitydodah and a couple of his mates and recreated a PRE game day thread...

Over 1k of posts and some extremely entertaining self abuse towards the end..... long may it continue!

It was, LTRTR.
I noticed that verballing. Was thinking he might have copped a fifty metre penalty for it, but not so in the end.

Good umpiring. Was within his rights to pay 50 but just warned him to cut it out. Comes down to personalities. Maybe some of the senior blokes wouldn't have tolerated the put-down knowing it would be picked up by the mic.

McEvoy, but not as fat or slow. Better leap, longer arms, more hit-outs.

Exactly Taz but it is a question of development v winning. Both English and Miller should not play as they are inferior to the VFL alternatives (at this time), We needed Beasley, Ballard and some other handy mids and runners like Silvestro.

Tricky call for the PF but I would at least bring in the vice captains.

That’s correct Lamb. It’s development vs winning. However I think development wins out. This experience for the younger kids is invaluable. However in saying that if they see a Miller as a possible delisting then he doesn’t play.
