Re: The RFC and 'Tyler'

Just talking about the young boy on SEN & they wanted to interview Nathan Brown who was happy to go on air but was not allowed to by the club because it was his day off.The club are wackers sometimes, hard to understand how a 5 min interview would cause any problems particularly when SEN were giving the players & club credit.

I don’t think you understand what I’m saying Rosebuds. There may be a Trust Fund established for Tyler, but it appears that the bank account used to accept monies to that Trust Fund is a personal bank account (i.e. the Fishlock’s) rather than an account for the Trust Fund itself - which is unusual.

Correct Redders. I don't understand why you assume it's a personal acct rather than a specific acct for the donations. I don't know the first thing about trust funds but I assumed when it said a trust fund had been set up it was specific acct for that purpose.

Re: The RFC and 'Tyler'

Yeah, when you operate a trust fund, what normally happens is that a corresponding trust account (as the operating account used to receive and distribute the fund’s monies appropriately) is established.

Trust Law is complex and I don’t pretend to understand it all either, but I believe a trust account is just a better accounting/audit practice where charitable donations from the public are concerned. Even just an account that referred to Tyler rather than his parents would be better.

Anyway, everyone send your money in. I’m sure its all going to good use.

I dont know if this story made the news.

Tyler asked his Mum today if the operation was finished, Mum said" Yes".
As she was sitting close to Tyler, he touched her face, "But Mummy I can still see you"

Talk about bringing a lump to a Blokes Throat.

Just totally gut wrenching what has happened to this little tiger. He can teach some adults a thing or two about bravery even though he's only a toddler.

Go Tyler you good thing!!!!! Would love to see the little fella on browny's shoulders when they first run out this year if he's healthy enough. How good would that be.

Attention Tony Greenberg. Make this happen!!!!

Re: The RFC and 'Tyler'

Tyler, seeing you on the news and reading about you in the paper has truely touched my heart in so many ways.

As I get older I feel more pressures of life, and the stresses I feel fail to compare to what you have had to and will have to continue to go through. You are an inspiration, and at such a young age, it is a credit to you and your family, and gives us people with smaller problems plenty to think about.

Seeing you wearing your Richmond jumper and with your favourite Tiger toy, makes me so proud to have as part of the Tiger family. No matter what you endure through your life, you will, like the rest of us be fortunate enough to have the Tiger Passion running through your veins, and together we will be riding the rollercoaster that is Richmond right beside you.

I hope you make a speedy recovery from this curveball in life, and from having witnessed your gorgeous smiling face and seeing your upbeat attitude, I'm sure you will succeed in life. Whatever hurdles life throws at you.

Just remember buddy, you are one up on so many of us in that you have had the Richmond Football Club Captain and Vice Captain come and visit you at your house.

Your inspiration and story has touched many people. Even non Richmond supporters. That proves that the Aussie spirit is well and truly with you from all accross the board, and know that when times get tough, we all admire your courage and determination, and believe that you will be able to overcome them. I for one, wish i was half as strong as you.

Once again Little Tiger man, good luck with a speedy recovery, and also to your parents, who I know are extremely proud of you, we are here with you to help in any way possible.

Re: The RFC and 'Tyler'

There is a link on RFC site to send Tyler and his family your wishes for those who dont feel like posting them on here.

Also some great photos of tyler with Browny and Johnson.

Well done again RFC, and Rosy, great gesture by yourself too.

Re: The RFC and 'Tyler'

That bit on the news with his Mum where he said he couldn't see her after his operation and she put his hand up her face and he said "Now I can see you." was truly heart wrenching. Very glad his last sighted memories gave him some pleasure and it doesn't look like the Tiger players or the club as a whole will soon forget young Tyler.

It is heart wrenching.
But it sounds like the young tyke has plenty of character and spirit. And who know...maybe one day...never say never. It sounds like he has that amazing attitude that children just have, and adults lose somehow. His story has really shaken my attitude set. I'm working harder on my course now, and who knows? He might just have inspired some young genius to study opthalmology or whatever and look for a solution. that's what i'm praying for.

The kid's touched me and i hope it's not just the Richmond thing.

Re: The RFC and 'Tyler'

I understand some PRE donations have already been made towards Tyler.
As another suggestion, why dont we have a PRE Intra Club Match in March, on Punt Rd and calling it the Tyler Cup?
We could organise donations & sponsors on the day, with all funds going towards Retinoblastoma International

Re: The RFC and 'Tyler'

For those that missed the news, Tyler has had the all clear from the doctors and is cancer free for the first time in 16 months.

Re: The RFC and 'Tyler'

Not sure if it has been posted before, but Tyler is to be the Tiger's mascot on Saturday 25th Feb, for the first NAB Cup game against Hawthorn.

Go Tyler, Go Tiges!
