Re: Auction for Tiger Tyler

I dont know if this story made the news.

Tyler asked his Mum today if the operation was finished, Mum said" Yes".
As she was sitting close to Tyler, he touched her face, "But Mummy I can still see you"

Talk about bringing a lump to a Blokes Throat.

Just totally gut wrenching what has happened to this little tiger. He can teach some adults a thing or two about bravery even though he's only a toddler.

Go Tyler you good thing!!!!! Would love to see the little fella on browny's shoulders when they first run out this year if he's healthy enough. How good would that be.

Re: The RFC and 'Tyler'

I bought Tyler some presents from PRE today. I tried to find things that would stimulate senses other than sight.

I got him a soft, cuddly teddy that plays the RFC song. It's dressed in a Richmond jumper and shorts so Tyler could dress and undress it and listen to our song.

Also got him a double Play School cd pack so he can sing and dance while he listens to it.

I saw a ball in Australian Geographic that I thought would be great for him so bought it too. It's about the size of an orange and is full of squishy stuff. It's covered all over with soft tendrils (not sure of the right word) 1-2 cm long and they are fun to run your fingers through or tickle yourself with. It's really fun to hold and has a lot of movement in it. I want one myself. ;D

I couldn't find a Get Well card that said what I wanted so I got a card that says on the front "There are moments when one person makes a special difference that no one else can make" On the inside it says "You made that differece. Thank you."

I'll write on it how inspirational Tyler's courage is and how he's touched the hearts of so many fellow Richmond supporters.

Will copy these messages and send it all on Monday.

Re: The RFC and 'Tyler'

You wonder aye what did he deserve to get this. But as we can see he has plenty of spirit and courage. Good Luck Mate

Re: The RFC and 'Tyler'

God, what a gut wrenching story. What a spirited kid.

(I wonder if anyone who knows the Fishlocks can suggest to them they set up a Trust account for donations to Tyler rather than the personal account that they appear to be using. A Trust account provides greater surety in the minds of donaters and I'm sure would generate extra donations as a result.)

Red - If you read the bottom of the story I posted on page 3 you will see some bank details.

No, I know there's a bank account BLT. What I'm saying is that the Trust Fund they're operating for him appears to be via a personal bank account rather than the typical Trust Account that accompanies Trust Fund's.

Let's push for Tyler to lead the Tigers out in the 1st game @ The Dome

What's say we try to get the young fella to lead the boys out in the 1st game of the year.
Talk about a win/win.

Great boost for the kid after all he's been through
If the players cant get fired up for him, then nothing can
The fans would love it

At his age he would probably need carrying,or how about walking out with Browny holding one hand and Sugar holding the other.

So many possibilities to do the right thing.......

Go Tigers/Go Tyler

I absolutely agree

IF the lad was keen to do it..and his parents felt comfortable about it, then the idea should be put to the club.
or the other way around,

anyhow...great idea Orpflog :clap

Good on you Tyler

It says it is a trust fund Redders.

A trust fund has been set up to help fund Tyler's education, continuing medical needs and another family car so his parents can drive him to blind school in Burwood from their Caroline Springs home.

To donate to Tyler's trust fund, quote account name G. and B. Fishlock, Suncorp Metway account, BSB: 484 799, account no. 083 854 523.

I mentioned on another thread it would be great if one of our supporters in the car industry could donate a car to the family. ;)

A friend here lost her husband suddenly and wrote her car off in a bingle so my husband and I organised a fundrasing to get her a another car (used) and it was amazing how the small community worked together and raised the money.  A friend from ours who manages Patterson Cheney sold us a good car for her at a reduced price.  It can easily be done with a bit of effort.

I don’t think you understand what I’m saying Rosebuds. There may be a Trust Fund established for Tyler, but it appears that the bank account used to accept monies to that Trust Fund is a personal bank account (i.e. the Fishlock’s) rather than an account for the Trust Fund itself - which is unusual. Ordinarily what you’d expect to see is a bank account operating in the name of the Trust Fund e.g. “The Tyler Fishlock Trust Fund” and not the personal bank account of his parents. Maybe its just an error in the title of the name of the bank account ? I Dunno.

As someone who’s worked in Trust Funds and is currently part of a Trustee that manages in excess of $2b in trust monies, I can tell you that whilst they’ve got a lot of great exposure in the media, for as long as they operate the Trust Fund for Tyler via a personal bank account they are gonna limit their potential to receive donations from the general pubic. I asked one or two people here at work about donating and they refused to for this reason.

Whilst I’m sure the intentions of the fundraising are obviously good, and maybe its just a lack of clarity about the structure that’s the issue, I can’t help but think that a lot of people who would like to contribute will not do so on account of the fact their monies appear to be going into someone’s personal bank account rather than an account that is in the name of the Trust Fund.
