Tyler Fishlock threads [Merged]

I just read the article.

What a spanner the principal is? Tyler's parents have no right to demand the bully be removed? How about Tyler having a right to a safe and equitable school environment. Some people just can't see a common sense approach to resolving things.

I was dumbfounded at the principal's comments as well. :thumbsdown

This is an unfortunate reality for kids to face when they start school. Bullies have been around for a long time.

I reckon Tyler's a tough and smart kid. He'll get through it. Just wish there was a cure for him to have vision.

Agree

Without bullies, the world would be a lovely place. Just look at Martin Bryant, he was bullied all his life because he was different. Look how that turned out ! and people still have the gaul to say kids should toughen up

I wouldn't be surprised that there's a tinge of jealousy in some of these bully kids mainly because of Tyler receiving public attention.

Bullying is sad no matter what age the people involved. It's all too common and I am constantly amazed how some have a need to abuse others either physically or mentally. I hope the issue is resolved so that all the kids are happy, including the bully. The reason he's hitting out needs addressing as well as Tyler, and the other kids' welfare.

I hope the little fella is going ok Brad. :hearton

Just saw on Today Tonight that Tyler was attacked with scissors. What type of teachers have they got there??

Being an ex-teacher, let me tell you, it's not easy stopping kids doing this stuff. Unfortunately you can't keep your eye on every kid for the whole school day. Kids can be very crafty whe they want to be.

I have a gentle, loving friend who just lost her job in a child care centre. She touched a little boys hand to get his attention when he ignored her request for him to stop ripping up a book and was reported. Both sides of a story are often not always taken into consideration. Sad world in that regard.

Reported for what? Harrassment?

It is quite pathetic that the school has allowed such a situation to arise. According to TDTonight it has been going on and has been reported to the school, for a period of 6 months.

For heavens sake Tyler can't see it coming.

Its a disgrace that the school and the Education Department have not intervened and moved the offending child, and I think Tylers mum should go see a solicitor..

Child abuse.

Admittedly, I don't know that story but it sounds ridiculous.

That's why they should give Tyler more attention than other kids. My nephew has mild-autism but still attends a public primary school with teachers who show more awareness.

While you're reading HMH, give him a hug and tell him we're all behind him!
