TV shows

What's it about ? Too many subscriptions right now (like many people I imagine), but give me the gist.
Good cheesy B grade hijacker’s runaway train espionage who is helping the baby guys type thing.

Like Speed on a train in London. It’s just an easy low stress pack your brain watch.

Every now and again you need that.

Been watching Last King of the Cross, it is based around John Ibrahim.
Also Tulsa King, Sly Stallone plays the lead, both shows on Paramount Plus.
Re Mr In-between a big thumbs 👍.

Really enjoying shogun on Disney+

You need to concentrate unless you speak Japanese.

The early clash of cultures and technology in a multi year plot is fascinating. I never read the book.

Double 90%+s rarely fail for me.

When you are listening to the extras podcast to find out backstories etc you know it has you intrigued. >> trade radio

I read James Clavell’s book years ago.
Then watched the mini series with Richard Chamberlain. Very good. But this production far surpasses it.

I watched the first episode, seemed good but I felt the main lead on the British side (the Captain?) was overacting horrendously.. did he tone it down at all in later episodes?

It gets better. The first episode I found a little confusing and was the worst one (of 7) IMO.

It’s toned down now but on reflection can see your point.

NCIS Origins on Paramount Plus.
First Episode is two parts.
If you are an NCIS newby it may not make sense as references are made to events in the original series.
I will watch it as I have a Paramount Plus Subscription and FTA has very little of interest that I like.

Watchin Monsters - The Menedez Brothers on Netflix.

Geez is that a tale of woe. Horrible humans.
It's a bit of a slog tbh.
Yeah, same here. I’ve said it before trying to make every mini series into 8 or 9 episodes can get trying (and tiring)

$2/month binge offer for 2 months

(Also got Disney for 3 months for 1 month)

Back to walking dead / game of thrones prequel / Mr inbetween for son / last week tonight … but now paying for 10-15 mins of ads per hour. FTA levels.

Binge has some great content but like Kayo what a pile of *smile* interface. And the ad amount is insane if you were paying 10/month. Amazon and Netflix cheap plans the ads are almost unnoticeable / give you a chance to go to the toilet / make a cup of tea.

I run everything through ps5 app now and much more stable. The TV app is super flaky.

Watched ep 1 of The Office (Australia). Whilst the UK & US versions were funnily cringeworthy the Aus version is just cringeworthy bad.

Currently watching the 30 year old Prime Suspect series again.

Hah, 30 years old?

I'm trying to re-watch Dr Who. Unfortunately many missing episodes from the Hartnell and Troughton years but I'm almost up to Pertwee so I'll get colour and no missing episodes soon.

I'm up to the end of Troughton so 55 years old.

Might take a couple of years to get through them all!
