Hey Batch I'm living in Sunny Miami.

Did you have afl.livesport last season? Do you think afl.livesport is worth getting? What is the reception like?

I was happy enough to watch ESPN3 and find the Tigers games after the event last year, but ESPN hasn't got the rights anymore. ESPN3 could be a bit patchy watching live games. What ADS do you have to watch?

H Tiger, I'm livin in NYC at i used ESPN3 also. What i liked about ESPN3 though was the replay options. If you couldn't watch the game at 4am then it would be available to watch not long afterwards on replay. Though agree the quality was dodgy at times.

for those in the USA - check out Fox Sports Plus. Its a paid channel ontop of your normal monthly cable but it got the rights from ESPN to show 2 live games per week. Just watched the giants and we have hawks v pies game live Sat morning at 5am i think ET.

I gave the new Afl.livesport a go this yr for a month to try it our. The quality is better but i have massive concerns over the replays. I want to be able to watch the game the next day latest, not 3 days later as they haven't got the match loaded up yet. I had it in the past and this was pretty bad... I was originally promised 12 hrs but it was always more like 96hrs... huge letdown there.

Sounds like they have improved.

AFL,LiveSport improved out of sight last year. Replays were up within 12 hours most weekends. I've just moved to Manhattan and have the same challenge. The stream was quick and TV quality over minimal bandwidth.

I am in Singapore, just called the Boomarang Bar and they told me that they are trying to arrange to televise the game on Thursday night.

Answer from Australia Network, the League loving scum that they are.....

Dear Dr Baloo,

We will not be showing the Thursday night Carlton v Richmond game on the 29th.

This year Australia Network has the broadcast rights to between 4 and 6 games per round. These games will be broadcast over the weekend between Friday and Sunday night. Occasionally for events such as Easter and Anzac day we will show games outside of these times, however, we will not be changing our schedule for this game.

Regards

Knobhead

Boomarang have the feed starting 4:45. Their are streaming from AFL Livesport TV. I decided to subscribe myself for a month as it'll end up being cheaper than paying Boomerang bar prices for the copious amount of drinks one would expect to consume while watching us win or lose.

Am working in QLD and although i have cable and free to air i was nervous bout not getting it but its on 7 Mate in QLD tonight at 630 ish.

yes, it does.

All set up in my hotel room in Manila. Brought my own laptop in addition to my work laptop just in case my work laptop didn't have the right software! I now have one laptop for stats and backup radio feed and one with live video ... beer's in the fridge - ready to go!!!

GO TIGES!!!

Richmond v Melbourne

Just want to mention that I watched the Melbourne game on http://www.afl.livesport.tv - and the quality was unbelievably fantastic. This is a paid service normally but for reasons that I don't want to go in to I (legally) have a free subscription. I don't know what it costs but I think it's about 100 AUD per year and I can categorically state that I would pay twice that for this service, and more.

I plugged the laptop into the flatscreen TV via HDMI and at times I honestly started to forget that I was watching an internet stream - it was that good. I don't even have an outrageously fast connection - 10 Mbps.

For overseas PREers, I can highly recommend this service. Even if you do have access to something like Eurosport 2's coverage (which I also do), I would recommend http://www.afl.livesport.tv - Eurosport 2 is one or two games per round but http://www.afl.livesport.tv is every match.

How long before the replays are up ? Bloody power outage meant my recording stopped at 11mins to go in the third.

$100 p/y is pretty good.

I'll be moving to the US within the next 18-24 months...so this could come in handy.
