I've never understood why people regard flopping and diving as worse than Selwood throwing his head back.Selwood's been a top player and was a great captain well before Cotchin. Even the shrug thing is Selwood making the rules work for him; not his fault the likes of Hocking never saw fit to counter it with a rule change. It's only the actual diving that I detest, the going to ground to pinch a free kick. He's an otherwise admirable player.
Still, it must eat him that his finals record is 6-13 (Cotchin 10-5).
They're both acts that turn minimal contact into a free kick through simulation. One is done by smalls, the other by KPP.
I find Selwood's closer to cheating because he creates the contact in the first place. At least the forwards and backs who flop forward don't drive their backs into opponents hands.
