Plenty of players play on after being hit in the head.

Went for the ball, low and hard, incidental. Delayed concussion two *smile* quarters later! We might as well bring in a new rule for delayed concussion 2 weeks later and suspend a player.

My captain, my captain.

Having one of the great captains finals series.

Legacy stuff.

That's after the contact. Shoulder / head. He won't get outed but he aimed to hurt.

If Shiel had a normal sized chin there would have been no head contact.

Shiel copped another big hit from Astbury later in 1st quarter, that may very well have triggered the delayed concussion.
Reckon Cotchin gets off.

Saw it at the ground in real time and thought nothing of it....except that it was a contest between two players for a loose ball and Cotch just went harder at it. Saw the replay after getting home....looked at it a few times and came away with same view...ie, hard contested ball get...both players going for the same ball....one just went harder at it. Surely there is nothing to answer to here.

It'll be a pretty tough MRP that rubs a captain out of a Grand Final over an incident like that. Round 6, perhaps. Grand Final, YEAH NAH.

His hunt for the footy and his tackling was just so far ahead of every other player it's not funny.

On the money. This year is as good or better than his Brownlow year. And on the two factors mentioned by G. I say he is a better more valuable player now.

Shiel got hit multiple times high in the first quarter. Biggest one was from Astbury. Set Dylan S back on his heals big time. I reckon that was just as likely to have caused the delayed concussion.

What a captains game!! Just brilliant!!

That bump. Happened right in front of me. The first thing Shiel did was grab his shoulder. His head was fine.

It was his shoulder that copped the brunt of it.

Cotchin has no case to answer.

If only we could look forward to the grand final without having to worry about this for the next 48 hours could go either way, but as they proved with Dangerfield the bigger picture isn't factored in.
