Training For Redemption in 2022

Parker : My new # 1, (1-4 pre-season player), as far as being the everywhere man, leading the sprints, being prominent in all the drills, no faulting his endeavor the key if hey has the smarts and footskills to be damaging.
Interesting.....again. Could be better than most think. Just wish he'd put on some weight.

Well done Julius.

Main Training Today 135 minutes:

No big summary today.

Just a word on the new boys:

Gibcus & Clarke :
both did first half of session with main group which was non-contact which included Footwork/Ground Ball/Conditioning/running technique and some ball movement drills, Clarke went one step further and participated in a full ground drill. Clarke plenty of skill plenty to like but very light. Gibcus very clean with his hands and well up there in the warm up runs. Got a bit of late one on one tuition from Noah.
Banks & Brown : Just doing stuff with rehab/condition groups. Not sure what Brown's issue is but Banks is still using one hand in ball handling so still recovering from wrist surgery.
Sonz : Has been a bystander and has done nothing but the occasional 20m kick to kick and even then does not even get into a jog to retrieve the ball so has obviously come to us with the main group.

Others :

Dow :
Did half the non-contact main session before going back to conditioning, maybe it is a shoulder that is holding him back as saw the grappling coach doing a bit of shoulder strengthening with him.

Syd : The dreads are gone and Dimma is back, not a bad session by Syd he might even make the news? Chl 10 had the cameras rolling for the session and Syd was involved in the play of the day, slamming Parker in a tackle which spilt the ball, Syd collected the spillage and goaled from 40m. There was no lap running for Syd but he was part of a grueling end of session 10 x 100 meter shuttles for some with 20sec rest between each set which I thought he had a slightly better showing.

Parker : My new # 1, (1-4 pre-season player), as far as being the everywhere man, leading the sprints, being prominent in all the drills, no faulting his endeavor the key if hey has the smarts and footskills to be damaging.

Baker : Gets his head ripped off at least twice every session, (and LOVING IT!).

Ross :
A pretty solid unit now.

Will Martyn : Been missing for a wee & half now not sure what the go is there.

Looking forward to whole group returning Monday when I expect things to crank up as they only have 2 weeks to flog them before they another break for Christmas.
Interesting re Will. He has not been mentioned recently in terms of the Midfielders deemed ready to step up by the coaches at all. It all reverberates around RCD, Dow, Ross.

I wonder if there is something there with that and him not being at training.

Was Syd running with a cocktail in his hand?
Doesn’t sound lazy or disinterested to me

Thanks caesar, is Marlion training, or is he back on Monday?
No Marlion has not been spotted, a bit of a mystery but hopefully just giving him a bit more family time in his locked out State?

Don't think so I saw Will training at PRO before the 1-4's were officially due back and he was there on day 1 but has been missing lately.

Had a 20 minute sqizz myself today @caesar .... as you mentioned Banks and Brown in a group (when I saw it) which included Dustin leading out front... sort of like a captain would, Lambo, Noah and Dion who I thought appeared a little trimmed down.....?? Maybe the tele puts an extra 10kg on him!
If I could have found you in amongst the throng of PREenders.... I would've said hi:cool:

You should have said hi, I were the short bloke on Punt Road wearing a bucket hat.

I don't see any slimming down of Noah and Dion though, they are solid units.

Sorry mate didn't see anyone when I was there. .... then I went over and had a look at the joint next to the Cricketers ...... Surely you should've added that to the property portfolio. ... ya could've done your reports from the balcony!

Get them to mow the lawn a little shorter. Otherwise you’d probably mistake Caesar for a pop up sprinkler :giggle:

Ch 10 news speaking to future captain Jacky G getting asked about captaincy who said he'd be honoured. Verdict at end of January but I reckon he'll get it.

RCD & Samson just going about their business, I have commented enough positively on them in previous reports, time for them to consolidate my opinions, (or not), before making further judgement.

Doesn’t surprise Parker would be a track star , appears a naturally fit type , if he could hold all of his marks his impact would rise by 500% , go matty go

Is there any hint of positional changes at this stage, or where the new guys will be playing?

No not at this stage stage, need whole squad and some match play drills before getting a hint at possible moves.
