Training for DRAFT PICKS!!!!

He’s the sort of ‘plug and play’ player that wins a club a Premiership. If he’s accepted that’s his role, then we’ll be better for it.
I hope for Caddy's sake he has put in the type of pre-season that K-Mac did 12m ago.
Yes injuries did interrupt his 2020 year but also clear he is a player without a position in our current best 22.
Despite getting lucky in 2019, he is not quite a wingman (lacks the aerobic capacity of Marlion and K-Mac) and is certainly not a HBF.
Josh is the third tall forward in a side that needs and already has two.
As such, he is a keeper for another year - as durable as Jack is, at some stage the wear and tear is going to slow one of the games smartest footballers down.

In light of the rule changes this year, I wonder if they are training Caddy as a specialist "Man on the Mark". He's probably the yappiest player we have and loves to get in the opposition faces.

would make sense and be a real luxury to train someone like Josh as a spare parts bloke.

he played his most damaging footy forward it seemed.

I wonder how it would go if he played 3rd tall, and move say, George onto Bachars HBF?

How's RCD tracking?

I'm supportive of the women's team but there's a real lack on info about the men on the RFC site at present.

That’s diplomatic.

I would argue the AFLW competition has no business receiving anywhere near the level of attention it’s getting on the AFL competition website.

Australian Rules Football is the sport.
AFL is one comp.
AFLW is one comp.
VFL is one comp.
WAFL is one comp.
etc.

The VFL has a website. A major story will get one article or so on the AFL site because the competition involves AFL players, so it has interest for AFL fans.

AFLW is a separate competition that should not receive forced saturated advertising on the AFL’s website the same way the VFL doesn’t.

As far as I’m aware, most people are acting in fear of being called a sexist by avoiding the above argument and pretending they’re not annoyed by AFLW content getting in the way of their search for the AFL content they’re looking for.

There is no basis for AFLW content to saturate AFL news. It should be on an exclusive AFLW website with only glimpses of AFLW content appearing on AFL platforms for promotional purposes. I‘ll support that more than I’ll support the current approach where they act like AFLW is of equal interest and if we believe in equality then we should accept it. Sorry, rant over.

I want to get something off my chest.

womens footy has taken over RFC.com.

This time of year, I'm usually pursuing photos of mens training, and reading about whose flying.

But the content is 90% (I counted) WAFL.

Now im supportive of WAFL. I think its imperative and great that there is a pathway to a big league for 50% of the population.

But I dont enjoy watching it (I expect this to change when Ms. Rioli debuts). I've been honest with the club on the last 2 fan surveys (Supportive, but not really interested)

and I am a bit annoyed its relegated the information feed on the men

I know it needs promoting and the women are playing now and the men aren't and theres a small window.

I get it.

But the fact that its at the expense of media on the men is, rightly or wrongly (probably wrongly), producing an animosity in me towards WAFL.

I'd be comfortable with a 60/40 split in favour of WAFL and I dont mind scrolling down to see a video of the blokes training.

Im well aware my POV may be behind the times and out of step with a bigger picture at RFC.

But im being honest with you.
Mate, I do have some similar sentiments although for the first time I watched last week's game and really enjoyed it.

I think with the staff cuts last year there will be more modest website content for the foreseeable future. I don't know but it is quite possible that there might have been separate men's and woman's content producers previously, or at least multiple staff, which I am sure would have been rationalised.

Not worth getting upset about IMO

... and move say, George onto Bachars HBF?

Nice left field idea, Easy
Made me imagine some of the chaos down back if that move were to happen!
How do you reckon the likes of Grimes, Vlastuin and Astbury might go with Georgie running amuck around them?
That said, Bakes would know how to read George and sync with him.
Then there's Zipps who would have us believe that Georgie could play AND succeed in any position on the ground. Wouldn't be at all surprised if Zipps thought George could be a better premiership ruckman that Grigga!

im a georgophile.

nobody, not even George, would be able to read the switch coming off a HBF!

At this point, AFLW needs the coverage to help build support and audience.

Any team downplaying it could end up with a Collingwoodesque report about systemic sexism.

I do agree that the AFL content on the club website is conspicuously much more shallow compared to last year or previous years during this pre season period.

Wafl is actuallythe Western Australia footy league , women’s footy is AFLW , not sure how you wouldn’t know that. I think afl in general is way more subdued in terms of the build up to season proper than it used to be , with fewer praccy matches, and now women’s getting exposure across the board very little is seen or heard across the media . Not much we can do about it

You blokes are being ripped off surely when cameras are on for a 2 hour training session they can give you more than 1 minute of footage.

You need to do better Ceaser. Is it too much to ask you provide video content with your training reports?
