Training Today Saturday:

As I understand it, this was their first training session back? from their allocated BYE.

Absent: Riewoldt, Prestia, JNR, Lynch

Hopper: Was absent but only because they put a big block of training into him this week while others were on their break, will train Monday and almost a certainty to be available for selection.

Samson Ryan: In rehab a bit of running and a bit of jumping and landing to test ankle, if I were to guess, if only a sprained/swollen ankle?, he should get up with a main session and 6 days to go.

Cumberland: A bit of ball work and quite a bit of running, line ball but similar to Ryan I reckon he probably gets up.

Marlion: Trained strongly and having a bit of a laugh with his new Bro in Coulthard.

Seth Campbell: Spoke to Seth who is just a lovely young kid, as per injury report says he has turned the corner from his abductor and reckons he is a couple of weeks away. Was running but not back with main group yet.

**I met the manager of our VFL boy Lefau who was there watching him after he was invited up to train with the main squad, if not for missing 12 month with an ACL would be a good chance to be on an AFL list in some capacity IMO. Had some stunning eye catching power passages of play watching him live on the weekend.

Mykelti Lefau (15 disposals, four clearances, one goal)

"He was a standout performer for us once again. Just his presence in and around the footy was fantastic and he was able to hit the scoreboard as well, having three shots on goal."

*Apparently Monday is main training when in normal circumstances i would have expected it to be Tuesday, (two days out from main game).

Cheers

Good one Julius. Agree about Lefau. Has some great moves which definitely looks AFL level and only 25 yo.

We should also rookie Mutaz.

Mutaz needs to get his knee right so we can see what he is capable of, has looked a bit proppy to me of late.

Lefau listed as 195cm 96kg
Maybe he’s an option if picked up to be played up forward in the AFL ahead of Bradtke Bauer in 2024

Excellent news on Campbell. I have high hopes for him.

I've been impressed every time I've seen Lefau. Big, tough, quick, loves to tackle. Definitely a lot to like about him.

So that was the big fella we saw last week ?
Who was the little bloke who kicked a couple , I thought it was Campbell ?

Yes in the first instance but the little bloke that kicked 2 goals was Coulthard and a VFL player Olden.
The week before it was Steely Green.

Main Training Today Monday:

Prestia: Did not train Saturday and just did half a session of rehab today, given we have also had the BYE not sure if it is just management?

Junior: Did not train Saturday and just doing rehab running today so would assume he would be unavailable?.

Taranto: Absent today but trained Saturday.

Hopper, Samson and Cumberland: Trained fully.

Dusty: I don't think I have seen him more animated and even cracking jokes.

Seth Campbell: Finally having a bit of a kick of the footy in addition to rehab.

So from that Pickett for junior seems a certainty.

Hopper and Cumbo less clear who comes in for one or both.

Ryan to play.

I don't think Cumbo looked fit enough or trained well enough to be an inclusion.

Again today he feigned a knee injury and then a wrist injury only to proceed to train as normal, (he is a drama queen from observation and also it being a bit of an inside joke of some of his teammates).
Cumberland and Samson Ryan also had a bit of a heated discussion/argument on positioning, Samson offering a bit of advice and Cumberland telling him to go forth!

Sounds like he and Sonsie are cut from the same cloth
