Training For 2023

He does get himself into a lot of pickles with the ball in his hand, which probably means he gets crunched more than most.
the mark of the player will be if he learns to get the same amount of ball but add some self preservation

Main Training Today Thursday:

Vlaustin: completed full training.
Grimes: Was out there on the periphery most of the time being cautious with his shoulder but should play.

Looks like Cumbo out (hope it's Mansell instead) and Vloss in.

Cheers caesar, how's Coulthard looking on the track, looks to be an exciting prospect?

Coulthard looked great in his first training session last Friday and showed a bit in the VFL, today my eyes were more on Tigga and Grimes.
Daniel Rioli was the guest on Yokayi Footy earlier this week and was asked about Coulthard and he said all the 'Brothers' are trying to claim him as their own. Dan would be biased but reckons he will be a dangerous player for the Tiger's in year's to come once he builds up his body and learns the game plan. He also said he was tasked with manning him up on his first training session last Friday and was impressed with his speed and movement.
I mentioned in that training report that Coulthard seemed to have good leading patterns and quick to double back to be at the drop of the ball, (looks a slippery customer).

I heard Dan say this in the Yokayi show. I reckon Coult is ready for 1sts no matter how small Dan says he is.

Caesar is Biggie training as forward now permanently and what about the mystery of Colina.

I'm super excited by what Coult's might be, reckon he's going to have a cult following. I watched him closely in the VFL last week, looks to be a natural footballer.

Catain's Run Today:
Only addition to squad is Sonsie, I guess he is out there expecting a negative Mansell result?

Went to the Captains Run.

Beautiful day. Sun. Fun. Low key. Lots of banter and finished off with a fun drill amongst some of the boys. ( will post video if I can ).

Plenty of the boys walked around the boundary line signing autographs and taking selfies.

Cotch was with a group of 5-6 kids having a kick & handballing with them. Took pics at the end.

Shame that he didn’t or Jack for that matter ( he was wearing his tracksuit top ) walk around the boundary line as I would have loved to have taken a pic with the great man. I’m not a ‘fanboy” type as such ( I didn’t request autographs or pics) , I just took video to show my boy tonight. But for Cotch & Jack I would have loved to have that memory.

Took plenty of video so hopefully I can download it here.

I didn’t see Marlion out there which was disappointing but understandable.

The “three amigos” left from the car park one behind the other.
( Rioli, Shai & Maurice)

Baker is a natural born leader in my view. I could see him being a future Captain.

Going Saturday night.

Can’t wait.

Hope the weather is dry.

Waiting…..

@waiting The Captain's Run is always only the 26 man named squad for game day so naturally Marlion wasn't there but he was for main training yesterday..

As for Cotch, how many photo shoots and interviews has he had to sit through this week and I think i saw him get pulled away by Richmond PR as he was heading to do some autographs so he may well have had further immediate duties?.

Glad you were able to get there in tribute to Cotch.

The Captain's Run is just a warm down from main training and is a kick and giggle, maybe fair enough except where goal kicking is concerned IMO, a couple of culprits not fussed when they sprayed multiple shots wide.

*I do want to compliment two players : and they are not your stars, Jack Ross & Samson Ryan use every session even seemingly meaningless 20 minute ones to work on their craft.

Thanks Caesar.

Yeah I understand what you are saying but he was the only player I came to see today.

All good next time or at the B & F later in the year.

I didn’t want to mention the kicking for goal “stuff”, which as you said, usual players spraying them everywhere but I put it down to the “nature of the session”.

Ross & Samson we’re wonderful as was KMac signing and speaking to many fans.

Obviously there were some that didn’t come close to the boundary line and said I will be back.

I should have message you to catch up.

Next time!

Now to try and download those videos….

Nothing against Nank and Grimes but Baker is certainly firming.
I think we want a young Cotchin like character for the job. Quiet (well perhaps not so quiet) and unassuming, who leads by example.

Baker personifies the idea that nothing is impossible and that he will give until he drops.
Others who are close will include Lynch, Rioli and Vlastuin. At the moment maybe Baker is in front!

Today , albeit a fun session, his character, voice, interaction, his personality, his strut….

Captain in waiting.
