Is Colina ready to go??Penultimate Training Session Today Sunday:
Am only giving you injury updates on what was a light session.
Dion all good
Jack Ross back with main group.
Graham continues to train strongly
Sonz, now has enough main sessions under his belt to not even be featured in this space but thought some would want to know.
Cumberland back after absence Thursday.
Hopper must have had one of his managed sessions?
Marlion still in re-hab and looking less likely although maybe managed sessions for the abductor strain is the go.
Shorty & Tarrant already ruled out of course.
Anyway all roads lead to Tuesday's main session, (for me at least).
Cheers
This is great to read mate. I'm assuming doing all physical work? Tackling etc.?Penultimate Training Session Today Sunday:

Not a lot of tackling or heavy contested stuff by anyone today but Dion pushed off a few bodies here and there and looked fine to me.This is great to read mate. I'm assuming doing all physical work? Tackling etc.?
Ta as ever.
Gine. Hmm.....is that 50-50 for gone or fine? Not a lot of tackling or heavy contested stuff by anyone today but Dion pushed off a few bodies here and there and looked gine to me.
Seems fair. Grimes and Balta had worse year in a while and our defense leaked.
Mansell isn’t quick like George, Butts and D. Rioli. Good endurance, good defensively playing down back in a structured system and role, but not sharp. How does that translate playing as a high pressure small forward ? Can he run guys down like those 3 used to ?
Who said he was a cart horse ?He ain't slow and has terrific acceleration. I can't imagine they'd consider him to help/accompany Junior in the role if he was a cart horse:

Tigertim.s stats call out stoppages and clearances but not centre clearance differential. Seems to me that if we were bad at centre clearances it would be included as a con.Seems fair. Grimes and Balta had worse year in a while and our defense leaked.
Misses how our lack of midfield depth hurt our defense. Without stats to support, to my eye we were defending centre clearances more than most other sides I reckon.
To do a fair comparison of defenses you would want to compare the defense of teams PER centre clearance of opposition (clean or dirty) and then also in general play per entry to neutralise the effect of possession domination by opposition. Same for offense - which is why I reckon our offense was off the charts. Once we got the ball we scored a lot.
Anyway proof will be in the pudding - we should see the defense improve with improved midfield performance.
And yet they're trialling him as a defensive small forward. Which was my point. They must think he's quick enough to run blokes down and apply defensive pressure.Who said he was a cart horse ?
Happy to give him a go up forward, but yet to see any evidence of genuine speed in the few years he’s been with us. Not slow, but not super quick either a la George who was regularly tracked as one of the fastest runners in the AFL. As somebody else said, 2.96 for that size is ok but not anything special.
Camera angles can be confusing is what I'd say and that Dow has probably looked quite reasonable in the practice matches but disposal still an issue.Hey @caesar I’ve come to your cave seeking wisdom.
I rewatched a couple of quarters vs Melbourne and thought at one point that Dow looked taller than hopper. Hopper is listed at 187 and Dow at 184. Have you any observations on this?
I’m hopeful. He showed a lot against a dominant Melbourne in a little over a half.Camera angles can be confusing is what I'd say and that Dow has probably looked quite reasonable in the practice matches but disposal still an issue.
That changes things.Marlion and Shorty have trained fully
