Training For 2023

Three forwards and mid-forwards have departed.
Cads, Lambs and JC.
It will be interesting to see how they reconfigure.
Always been impressed by Clarke in a HFF role.
Zac Williams is a massive out for the Blues, providing run off a HBF, also Walsh through the centre.
With those key absences, I presume they would play Saad higher.
those guys didnt play many games last year, so i dont think it will have much effect.

Regardless the club didn’t make it clear to supporters why no AFL players took part. Why not?
Could simply be that with a dozen players already injured, carrying niggles or having restricted pre seasons. They didn't want to further risk any of the senior players before round one.
Would have thought that being obvious enough to not need an explanation that every other club could access.

Footy season's a marathon that just got extended by another couple of kliks when they added another game, pushing another meaningless extra pre season game into some of the seniors might not be the smartest way to go by the time we come in sight of the home straight.

Great dedication but poor of the club not to communicate that no AFL listed players were playing or explain why.
I believe it was a VFL thing. Sandringham also had no AFL listed players. There are also a couple of other VFL praccies with no AFL players too.

Yet the Blues were able to play a few snr listed players the night before?
They also had to get permission from the AFL to give their senior players a run due to limited pre seasons. Guess we've simply got slightly different priorities.

Williams has been a flop for blues I would have thought

For a player of his build 2.98 is just average, fast but not quick
It’s about Cotchin’s speed at the combine I think?

And… it’ll be a matter of anticipation skills I recon. Half of what a good pressure forward does is ambush the receiver.

Penultimate Training Session Today Sunday:

Am only giving you injury updates on what was a light session.

Dion all good
Jack Ross back with main group.
Graham continues to train strongly
Sonz, now has enough main sessions under his belt to not even be featured in this space but thought some would want to know.
Cumberland back after absence Thursday.
Hopper must have had one of his managed sessions?

Marlion still in re-hab and looking less likely although maybe managed sessions for the abductor strain is the go.

Shorty & Tarrant already ruled out of course.

Anyway all roads lead to Tuesday's main session, (for me at least).

Cheers

Looking better Caesar but disappointing that Marlion still in rehab and not looking likely from what you mentioned

Looks like the season has come upon us 1 week too early

Thanks Caesar

Looks like we will have a pretty full squad to choose from.

Tarrent, Short and Pickett are the only 3 out of the best 22 plus Brown maybe and a couple of players underdone a tad also in Sonz and Graham.

Thats not as bad as I thought this time last week.

Have I missed anyone?

So Marlion, Short and Tarrant to miss

But Prestia, Cumbo, Sonsie and Graham available?

Doubt Sonsie and Graham.play on limited pre season game time. Bur great that Prestia is good to go!
