Training For 2023

This one says a bit too.
That will be an instant free kick to Curnow or McKay if he lays a finger on either of them (as per pic). Plus a 50 for the eyes wide open wtf dissent from all of our players. It's one set of rules for them and one for us. We will be lucky to get 3 free kicks a quarter and zero in our F50.

On a more serious note (only slightly) Young would be thrown to the wolves if he has to debut on a Coleman medalist. Kid only picked up a footy seriously for the first time about 3 or four years ago. I think it's very unlikely.

If Tarrant doesn't get up Miller will get the job. If Carlton know we are short with Tarrant and possibly Broad out, they're likely to play DeKoning to try to stretch us imo. Interestingly Pittonet has been named to play Friday night. He's coming off injury so very underdone to lead the ruck in R1.

Will they risk Sam Walsh ? That's the question.

No wickets, 30 runs in the first hour. Just what the doctor ordered. The previous Test showed the calls to hit out before you get out to be folly, and these two are proving the adage that defence is the foundation of good batting. Both showing excellent defensive technique against the spin.

Grind away. Give them nothing. Ball by ball.
An hour later we had lost 6/11

Too many people here are paranoid and worrying too much about things out of our control like injuries and fail to see whats in front of them.

How will we defend against Carltons 3 big fowards ?
McKay - Balta
Curnow - Grimes
De Koning - Miller

We have Vlastuin & Broad who are very good experienced defenders that will make sure they help chop out in defence whilst nank is a fantastic Ruckman at defending in the back line and we have some gustsy players like Baker/McIntosh that would die at defending

No lets have a look at the other side of the coin !
Taranto , Hopper , Prestia , Cotchin , Martin , Bolton against Cripps and rabble - Im Backing our mids to take the honours easily and get the ball fwd more than Carlton.

OK so then
Which super star Carlton defenders are going to Stop
Lynch , Riewoldt , Bolton , Martin , Taranto , Cumberland ?

I think Voss has a bigger problem than Dimma

Weitering is only decent defender they have, Saad will cut you to pieces if you let him off the chain but put someone on him & he turns to water very quickly.

Broad is meant to be playing some game time v Melb so if he does & gets through that he plays. IMO Young would play Rd 1 with Tarrant missing. We'll find out more tm when our sqd is named for the Dees game. If they don't play then, then there's no chance they play Rd 1.

Paranoid or maybe just wondering how we'll cover? Be interesting to see if you're right about that supposedly obvious defensive lineup..

*smile* me, now we are complaining about decisions that haven't even been made yet!

It's hard work being an umpire advocate in this joint. :help

You cant stop progress BR,

its called Green Maggot Futures.

Theres no *smile* way Parker Cotchin went off his line next week. No way.

Brown has shot up 7cm over the past year! Now around the same size as Grimes and Broad. Also, Gibcus is now 91kgs, has added 5-6kgs to his frame as well . Last thing of note is Balta is 105kg… what an absolute unit

I saw Tom Browns height and weight for 2023 on the RFC website and thought it may have been a typo? Can the PRE guys who have seen him in person over the summer back this up? I haven’t really noticed him looking much taller?

Looks like Sonsie has put on some more size too and it up 5kg to 77kg.

I've mentioned this before, take these things with a grain of salt.

I've personally been part of doing these height/weight lists a couple of times and they were nothing more than educated guesses.

Weights are potentially pretty accurate because you see them every day but there is also a bit of ducks and drakes in what you list. You might give a beanpole young ruckman another 5kgs for example, just in case he ever plays and the opposition don't get a total confidence boost.

Height though is looking at last year and then there's a bit off 'I reckon x is taller than y, he must be more like this' and away you go.

Pat Cripps was anything between 190 and 196cm depending on which year you looked at.

Sorry TBR how do you just make up someone's height? I am not buying it.
