Trade period 2021

View attachment 13878I'm really pleased the AFL is investing heavily in 'Deadline Day'.

Much better idea than distributing money to the clubs so they can employ people to do productive stuff.

Need to ditch Continental Tyres as the sponsor and get Bendix Brakes on board.
Or caffeine tablets to keep the supporters awake during these 7 days of utter *smile*.
The bright lights and the over excited media won't cut it.

So I’m guessing that we have up until, and during, the draft to attempt to upgrade some picks so there is no pressure on us to do so before the trade deadline?

Trade period is ridiculously long, hopefully they reduce it from next year.

Port will get 12 and a future 3rd.
Swans will get 16 and Ladhams.

Posh what does this equate to as the overall Value. Seems cheap to me, but maths isnt my best subject.

On another subject, how's the carry on from Bobby Hill and his manager begging GWS to trade and going on about how they owe it to his welfare to do the deal.

If it was so important, why arent other Vic teams being considered and not just Essendon. and why didnt they give GWS more time.

Hear, hear mate. Employment for another year and on better coin than a lot of us but apparently GWS aren’t looking after him.

Is it fair to say that Bobby Hill could have found his way to any one of 16 other clubs? Probably for less than Essendon offered even.

McCartney and Dodoro will be sharpening their knives for Round 3 next year. Everyone else will be getting the popcorn ready.

Somewhere around Pick 35-38 I think, depending on where you think they will finish. The 12 to 16 move is arund a 200 point upgrade from the Swans 3rd round pick.

I dont often agree with Kingy. But 100% agree this time.

Two-time North Melbourne premiership player David King was one of several media commentators who backed the Giants’ decision to hold Hill to his contract.

“This is a kid who said three weeks ago ‘I couldn‘t be happier here and you’ve put your faith in me with that high draft pick and I can’t wait to repay you’, and then ... says ‘I want out’,” King told Fox Footy’s Trading Day.

“I think the player has to take some responsibility and the management group of that player.

“It’s easy to say I want out today and if the deal doesn’t get done then going back is awkward, but it’s only awkward because of what Bobby’s done.

“I don’t have the same sympathy for the player in this instance.”
