Trade period 2021

could we snag Adelaide’s pick 4? They may have to split their picks to get Dawson. Maybe we could swap pick 7, 15 and 26 for 4, 33 and their 1st round pick for 2022?

I know people want action but can't see the big deal in not doing anything. Back our team to draft some quality.

Most likely using Melbourne 2022 first round pick now for Dawson. So that ship as well might have sailed.

How many picks will we use out of 8 to 9 we have stacked up ? Doing nothing between now and November isn’t an option for us.

We are only going to trade picks.
Think we’re waiting to the last day when clubs hit the panic button.
Might end up with a good deal

Carlton get Cerra for pick 6 and a future third rounder.

Absolute steal. Picked themselves up a very good midfielder with A-grade potential that (injuries permitting) will play 200 games for them.
And at a discounted price. A rare case of someone taking less money to come home. My mail all year was it was Carlton and we were never that keen. The fact that he came cheap salary cap-wise and we still weren't interested tells me we have no cap space.

Perhaps we’re conserving cap space for a future target

Yeah that was a great deal for the Pies. Seems a bit of a tough sell for Freo.
Same

pretty much what they paid for Saad. Bargain, he's a better player than Saad by miles.

Cant wait to watch the Amazon doco next year on this year's trading - just to see how the Freo and Cats negotiations go for Clark.
Of course Geelong are gonna ask for 19 instead of 22. Will be fun to watch how that gets done in the doco.

We need to get creative though. We have lot's of picks & unless they delist a lot more some would go unused.

once again freo get gold in return on a Ellis type. They get pick 6 and future 3rd rounder, while Richmond gets pick 38 for Ellis.
freo now have pick 6, 8, 19 (courtesy of the dumb flogs on the beach) 19 and 22.
They will give Geelong pick 19, Geelong will be back to square one with a first rounder for a bloke they refused to play.
its like us getting pick 20 for Coleman Jones, yeah right
Ellis was a free agent. It's not a comparison. We didn't trade Ellis away, we let him walk because we didn't want/couldn't afford to, match the offer.

Seriously, are you trolling or do you really not get it?

This thread can be summed up by
1. We haven't done anything yet. Why haven't we done anything yet! We are useless

2. No one wants to trade with us because we are dominant. Got a better trade elsewhere? It must be because you fear us!

3. We have too many picks! What will we do with young footballers joining our football club?

My favourite is bemoaning that the pies and suns are both killing it and winning their trades. And they traded with each other.
Nice summary, but this is not going to stop me from reading past page 10 :ROFLMAO:

It's interesting.

The club has said its strategy is to trade up this year or improve next year.
They've also said we have no cap room, so we're not going to bring any established players in.

It'll be easy to measure the success or otherwise of the strategy, because they communicated to a high level, what they want.

Trade week is much ado about nothing, and the waiting is the hardest part.

Come on mann Cerra isn't worth a pick 6
Weller isn't worth a pick 2
Clarks not with a pick under 25.
Why are all kids under valued?

Not sure why everyone is saying we have to either trade for Tarrant or take him as a FA and dilute our Pick 38? Can’t we just take him in the PSD like NM can with CJ?

Its 13 long months and counting since our last flag.
This is cold turkey stuff. If they dont do anything we need a board take over, chicken *smile* dump at the front of Punt rd, chicken hearts sent to the club and mass sackings
