I know we still have the draft camp to help us determine the likely top 10 players for this years draft but how about putting together a list of the players you think will be there on draft day?
So there can be a level of consistency lets assume the following -
- Viney will go in the 2nd round
- Daniher will be going to Essendon in the first round
- Martin and Hogan will be traded for clubs but the order doesn't change. In other words don't factor Martin or Hogan into the top ten picks.

Fire away.

I think that Viney will be bidded on by GWS or GC and Melbourne wil have to use their 1st pick to get him.

As for top 10 - these guys will probably all be there

Whitfield
Toumpas
Kennedy
Vlaustin
Wines

Obviously lost on the first two efforts.

What's point of predicting a top 10 if a likely top 10 pick can't be included? As soon as he goes 3 it screws the order

And you know that GC or GWS are going to nominate him?

The title says a prediction of the top 10. Not what's your inside knowledge on what teams would do?

OK. Your choice.

Have you settled on a top 10 Gus?
Assuming we take a mid, Alot of talk around Kennedy Vlastuin and Wines, who in your view is best available from those 3, setting aside what specific type (in/out) of mid we need.

1. GWS- Lachie Whitfield (184cm midfielder - Dandenong)
2. GWS- Brodie Grundy (202cm ruckman - Sturt)
3. MELB- Jack Viney (178cm midfielder - Oakleigh)
4. GWS- Lachlan Plowman (191cm defender - Calder)
5. BULLD- Jimmy Toumpas (183cm midfielder - Woodville)
6. BULLD- Jake Stringer (191cm forward - Bendigo)
7. PORT- Sam Mayes (187cm midfielder - North Adelaide)
8. BRISB- Oliver Wines (185cm midfielder - Bendigo)
9. RICH- Ben Kennedy (174cm midfielder - Glenelg)
10. ESS- Joe Daniher (201cm forward - Calder)

Not another smurf, where's the tall forward or defender..
We are full of midgets

Nothing can be settled at this stage. The combine will of course settle a few things and the mini draft and trade periods will change a few things.

I like the 3 you have nominated. Vlastuin is a good all round player with a strong kick. He's not a line breaker though but he could play off a flank and more than take his turn in the middle.
Kennedy reminds me of Tony McGuinness but I wonder if he is a midfielder/forward or the other way around. Wines is a solid ball winner.

Just having a read of the nominations and Garlett is a glaring omission so far. On ability he has to be top 3 but there are a few more things to factor in with him.

Would you take the punt on him at pick 9?

Grundy is the interesting one for mine, given GWS overlooked Longer, I wonder if they'd be tempted to grab him with one of their early selections.

Garlett has been on the receiving end of some negative publicity of late, all the things we've tried to eliminate from our culture seem to be dropping out of Garlett's closet at a rate of knots. It could be a classic West Coast ploy of manufacturing another slider, or there could be some serious issues at play. My instinct tells me that Jackson and Hardwick will be chasing players with a strong work ethic and leadership skills, something which will probably go against Garlett when push comes to shove.

I'd select him at 9 if he was available. There aren't a lot of players that can do what he can.
It won't be a smooth ride though but the reward could be great.

I don't comment much on these threads but on this topic... I recon *if* we think we can cater to his needs/ requirements now, Garlett would be a rocking pickup at 9.
