Thoroughbred racing

Great win by Mr Brightside, got to feel for Willow who would've been riding him if not for the fall last week.

Yep. Florescent Star euthanised and Nugent a cracked spine.

Geez. I backed Florescent Star, summed up my day actually.

But that doesn’t matter when horses and jockeys are getting injured.

Cant remember anything like the last 3 weeks in Melbourne. It’s been awful.

Wonder if there will be more than one ambulance required on racetracks in future. There’s only so much one team of paramedics can do if multiple bad falls occur.

My old girl’s father is involved in the industry and he was telling me tonight that Jamie Kah is still in hospital ? Induced coma ? More tests etc.

Is that right ?

Last I saw was around Wednesday last week when yep, she was still in hospital.

Got the impression she will be out for a while yet.

Big day at Randwick today.

And right on cue the wet weather is back.

I‘m taking In Secret in the TJ, Sharp n Smart in the derby.

Wet track in Sydney has ruined it a bit I reckon. Makes the Sires a lottery. That said it gives Nature Strip a real boost; he is a much better chance on wet tracks these days.

Started well backing the winner in the first. Bubkus since. Really liked Magic Time in the last in Sydney but no exposed wet track form?? Hope In Your Heart a sneaky long shot chance in Doncaster. But feel the heavy track really brings Zougotcha into it. Pericles in Derby; heavy from good.

Like Maharba e/w in Sires but again no exposed heavy form; don't think any of them do. A lottery as I said.

Gig a Kick.

What do you know, the Sydney Championships are being run on a bog........again, who would’ve thought.

Massive win by I Wish I win in the TJ. He is a super horse. He was poorly weighted in Newmarket and In Secret was thrown in; it proved the difference. Look what he did to her at WFA today. I didn't have a huge bet on him as he had never started on a heavy track and thought it may curb his brilliance. But he left them standing.

Nature Strip is done. He had all the favours today. Wet track, no Eduardo to bother him in the lead but he was well beaten. He's had an amazing career but time waits for no one.

Another great win for Mr. Brightside. A seriously good horse. Hope In Your Heart a massive run at big odds. She draws a barrier she makes it very interesting. Same goes for Nugget as well.
