Thoroughbred racing

Thanks 44.

This explains the folly from trainers and many punters of putting a line through horses because of barrier.

The fillies/mares I have a small share in have been doing very well ove the last week or so. My Pendant won impressively (although only in a maiden) at Sandown last Wednesday, Be Instant was scratched from Kilmore Monday (Barrier 17 of 17) and then Bendigo Tuesday (Barrier 13 of 13) and won at Pakenham tonight (Barrier 8 of 8). Perhaps Leysy might like to discuss his theory re barriers with horse trainers because they certainly don’t like being drawn wide. Virtually had to run tonight as she had been ready for a week!

Fabric ran a very close 2nd at Bendigo Tuesday and I’m Buxom a very close 3rd same day. Fabric still immature and gone for a spell, will come back a good horse I think. I’m Buxom will be better over further - should go close provided she is in the right race next start.

My Pendant running at MV Saturday, race 3 - currently $4. Bit short for a horse that just won a maiden in my opinion. C Williams to ride and he was impressed with her at Sandown when she was always wide and still motored home to victory. Definitely each way. Also have Queen Leonora running in race 5 - she might be a sneaky chance of running a place .... in race 6! Not sure why we are running in a BM 84 when she is a 66 rated horse. Is a small field though so will be interesting just to watch - not a field of high quality but couldn’t recommend her to anyone. Having said that will have a small each way wager just in case.

Good punting all

Good stuff ^44. Normally have a few $ on your runners but missed them this week. Will saddle up on Saturday.

Thanks T44, if you didn't see his winners on Saturday here's a link for you, easy and the other punters on this site.

His rides in the Railway Stakes and then in the last race were outstanding, not many hoops could steer them as well as he did.

Good spread on Pikey in this weeks winning post..

Officially the hottest hoop in australia this year ridding a winner every 4th ride.

Interesting, lynda Meech is 2nd to Pike on the all tracks national premiership.

Shes a ripper.

Winning Posts vic track watchers have been value laden oracles lately.

Yes she's a good jockey, Moody used to put her on, and so does Weir, they wouldn't leg her up if she couldn't ride.

See if i can fluke another result for the Unco's.

SR 2/13 Gongs $4 fixed at $8 for the win.
SR 7/3 Spending to Win $4 fixed at $8 for the win.
Then all up both the horses for $2 the win.

Gongs missed the start, only finished a couple of lengths from the winner.
Spending to Win looked to have every chance.

Pike has ridden the last 2 winners at Ascot and still has another 4 rides.

Had a great day at MV Saturday, first time I have been on course for a victory at the Valley, which was enjoyed. My Pendant has some talent, not sure how much as she is still a little raw but won well and has plenty of upside to come. Queen Leonora even ran a good race - jockey thought if she could have sprinted a bit quicker at the turn and got a length on them might have even won but was a bit one paced and had to settle for fourth. Much better than her start prior. She will probably back up over 2050 this Friday night and pending all the normal stuff (like opposition, barriers, state of track etc.) she should be hard to beat. Be Instant might also be going around Friday night and would also be very competitive. Will maybe post more later in the week.

Congratulations on the win of My Pendant T44, she won very well. I had her in an each way all up with the bloody nag that ran 4th in the last, it had ran a place at it's last 6 starts but when i'm on it gets held up for a run which cost it a place

I think Arcadia Queen will beat Winx in the Autumn

and will almost certainly dominate Eastern WFA 1400-2000

It will be a great race if it happens easy. Arcadia Queen has tactical speed as well as closing speed, she'd sure give Winx something to chase.

extraordinary filly.

she was a 2yo in July, and she comes out and dismantles the MacKinnon winner amongst others, at WFA in December.

she seems to have it all.

Cant wait for things to come. Pins her ears back, and strides out like a greyhound. Physically, she looks as long as Jameka, but faster.

I think she'll be in Melbourne for the spring. Cox Plate as a 4yo mare. Winx will be 8yo.

I'm tempted by the 15's now. ;D

It will go to the Golden Eagle you'd think. $7.5M for 4 y.o's.

maybe.

but think $7.5m is pocket change to the owners

and what would you rather on the mantelpeice?

a Cox Plate, or a golden eagle?

Wouldn’t it be a treat to see the HK Beauty Generation, The Autumn Sun, Arcadia Queen and Winx compete next season!

Will be a treat. I think AQ *smile* on TAS.

With the quarantine restrictions, you won’t see Beauty Generation back in Australia.

After all, that’s the same reason none of our top liners went to HK this year.

As for Winx, we must protect the picket fence.
