Thoroughbred racing

Well fellas, we are into the second round without a collect. The wowsers are reading on and brimming with a protestant smugness, while the homeless are as mental and as hungry as ever.

44 steps up to the plate this week to deliver is from this funk and disprove my theory that there is a finite amount of good fortune in each of us, and that ours is being spent on Richmond. Of course, $1 a week is an extraordinarily cheap decoy. :cupgold

If T44 can't get a collect, then no-one will.

Should we get on Bernie's Regret tomorrow at Warrnambool?

nah, it's not trained by Weir!

Coolring drew the car park in the Wagga Town Plate, while Love Shack Baby will start short on Thursday.

Like your optimism JB!

Have Queen Leonora in race 4 at Flemington Saturday. Blinkers go on and will improve her - probably needs a little luck on her side but unfortunately the barrier gods did not smile upon us - 13 of 14!!!!!. Each way at best but probably a place bet for those more sane than I. Has opened $23 which is about right but the field is not strong and she will be still going at the end of 1700m (her and I’m Buxom likely to go around at Caulfield next week over 2000m)

For the homeless I have had $10 win on Comin Through at the Goldy in the Hollindale. Used my power play on Sportsbet to get $3.30 so hopefully have $33 to distribute.

Go Tigers!

Love shack Baby is starting favourite at 6/4 in the second at Wagga. I’d like 3s in a field of 16 but LSB should win.

Coolring is overs given the wide draw in the Town Plate.

Then head to Wyong and the half brother Prime Candidate is overs in the BM 65.

A couple of queries for the PRE racing fraternity:

Why is there no harness racing in England?
Why do they not use barrier stalls for the jumps races in England?

Fairly certain there are Harness races in England, just not very high profile - maybe because they race on grass and it is usually wet they get bogged too easily?

The only reason I can think they don't use barrier stalls for jumps races is that because the races are so long it doesn't matter too much if they miss the start by a length or so. Also more like a Hunt Club type of thing they just gather aroudn and go.

Was nice work, particularly when I odds boosted to 41/1!

wow.

a day to remember. enjoy.

I baulked on Coolring, but had a handsome day with 3/3 just the same, your first two and the other pfieffer/brown winner. :fing32

I'll give a sling to someone down on their luck on behalf of the Unco Punters.
