Caulfield Cup - Moriarty.

Waller's email to owners "He has been entered to race on Saturday in the Caulfield Cup where he has drawn a beautiful barrier in barrier 7 in a field of 18. I don't want to get anybody too excited but gee this horse has a legitimate chance. He deserves to be there after showing last year how good he is by finishing as close to the winner as he did after coming from an impossible position from a bad barrier. Now that we have a good barrier we will be trying to use it and I know he needs to be ridden quiet but you can still ride a horse quiet and be mid field. You can't throw away a good draw so if he can settle 8th or 9th in a field of 18 it will be the perfect spot for him to be ready to attack late. His work has all been done in Sydney and he worked well through the week. He will head to Melbourne tonight and will arrive in the early hours of Thursday morning to settle in and be ready to run his best come Saturday. "

I'm on Who Shot Thebarman each way at $31, and have just backed Admire Rakti.

Good win by Rakti. Owners in tears. Barely an Aussie horse.....

I'm a bit disappointed Lucia started slow and finished 3rd, but I'll stick with her all the way to the Melb Cup.

A huge run by Lucia, she'll meet Admire Rakti better in the weights after the penalty he'll get. I'm going to stick with him though.

Admire Rakti brained 'em, class above, wide all the way, went via Prahran on the turn, then strolled home. Huge run. If Bande was fit probably would have quinellad. Pop Rock and Delta Blues all over again. Backed it purely on the memory of the Japanese dominance that year, which i collected on as well (doesn't happen much).

It was the kind of arrogance displayed by the Aidan O'Brien camp in 2008, but with restraint. Handed up the early possie one off the fence to race three-wide throughout before peeling XX-wide on the turn. They knew they had the horse.

I think Rebel Dane is a great each way chance in the Manikato tonight. He's drawn to get a good run, a Craig Williams special would be nice.

Of to the Wang races with free liquid refreshments from 12-5 :beer so need to put on a couple of wagers before rehydrating begins.....any tips ladies an gentleman ????

Unfortunately, Lucia's dropped to 3rd for me now. Not sure if she can run the length on this track.

My trifecta
1) Mutual Regard (Ollie's on fire)
2) Protectionist
3) Lucia Valentina

Long shot: Gatewood

I'm with you on the first two. Fawkner and Signoff right up there as well.

Great win by Protectionist. Must have been 3 or 4 lengths. The favourite Admire Rakti came last....
