PRE PUNTERS CLUB

The champ and the challenger both missed on getting a result last week - both a tad unlucky too as their selections were hindered by the track conditions and didn't really stretch out IMO.

Therefore this week we have a new Champion and Challenger.

Champion in the red corner - RedSeaTiger
Challenger in the blue corner - jb03

What a fight - the newcomer RedSeaTiger up against the PRE Punter of the Year 2006. This will be an exciting win to whomever takes the bout.......

PRE PUNTER OF THE YEAR 2009 (someone has to take it off Rosy this year please.....)

The 2009 rules are -

1) Each Saturday we will have two (2) tipsters - one will be considered the champion the other the challenger.

2) Both the Champion and the Challenger will have $10 each to bet with and are allowed only 1 or 2 horses each Saturday to bet on eg. $10 Win on a horse or $10 Place on a horse or $5 win on 2 horses or $5 place on 2 horses or $5 x $5 on 1 horse;

3) Should your total collect be more than the total collect of your tipster opponent on the day you become the champion and you will be challenged the following Saturday by the next tipster on the list. Should both the Champion and the Challenger not gain a collect the next 2 tipsters on the list will become the champion and challenger for the following Saturday. (with the tipster who is the next in order becoming the champion and the challenger being the tipster next after him/her)

4) Selections can be at any Saturday metropolitan meeting in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide. (On weekends where there are Group races on the Monday or Sunday as well as or instead of the Saturday racing the PRE Punters in the chair can forgo the Saturday racing and bet on the Monday or Sunday). Please post your selections on this thread by 11.00am on the day of the races so it gives me time to find them and put them on.

5) All profits on your $10 bet (no matter how small) will be posted to Rosy's bank account to help with the admin costs of PRE

6) All bets are put on Remote Tigers Darwin Bookie IASbet.com hence there is no outlay by other members of the Punting Club.

7) A total of collects for each member will be maintained by Remote Tiger and the member with the largest total of collects by the last day of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival will be announced the PRE Punter of the year, 2009.

The order of betting for 2009 is -

1. Blood17 - return 0
2. mk33 - return 0
3. Red Sea Tiger - Champion
4. jb03 - Challenger
5. Tiger44
6. Scottyturnerscurse
7. the claw
8. Hartbalm
9. Leysy Days
10. jimbler
11. Rosy
12. Remote Tiger

Due to two tipsters betting each weekend (Champion and Challenger) we all should get more than two turns at tipping during the winter footy season and spring racing carnival.

IASbet.com provides for - a Superprice dividend guaranteed to be better than 2 of the three TABs and is generally better than all three or a fixed price or in some races Top Fluctuations. When you put your tips on PRE please advise which of the 3 betting types above you want (Superprice or Fixed Price or Top Fluctuation) Please note if betting for a place Superprice is the only option available. IT MAYBE THE DIFFERENCE IN YOU BECOMING NEXT WEEKS CHAMPION.

Interesting RT. Believe that was the last time JB had a winner.

I see jb03 has logged-onto PRE since the notice of this weeks tipsters went up so I reckon he will be right for Saturday - but Red Sea Tiger has not been logged-in since I PM'd him - if you know Red Sea Tiger's mobile phone number coud you please SMS him to tell him he is tipping this week........Thanks RT

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

No worries RT, I've been out and about but will post Red Sea Special(s) before time ;D

Here goes then ............................

Thought I'd stay in Sydney for the quality Group events, probably the toughest to pick them in these, but having a crack.

* Randwick Race 7 Number 4, Sousa (Superprice) $5 win
* Randwick Race 8 Number 6, El Cambio (Best Fluctuation) $5 win.

Going for a Group 1 running double for the Snowden/McEvoy combination.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Good luck fellas and to anyone else having a bet today. :)

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Bad luck...hopefully we'll get a champion next week.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

It just didn't feel like Easter Saturday yesterday - where was the Doncaster Handicap?

Why do these clubs play with tradition? The Derby and The Donny were always the best days racing on the calendar in Sydney.

We can't find a champion in the PRE Punters Club - Sousa was there but just got beaten by a better horse on the day (how was Predatory Pricer'r run - first Tuesday in November written all over it!) - El Cambio tried to burst through an opening at the 300m mark and lost some momentum - could have been in the finish with a touch of luck - Gran Sasso was just winding up behind a wall of horses and had no where to go - when he did get a crack at them he picked up well but the bird had flown.

Next week we have two new tipsters

Champion - Tiger 44
Challenger - Scottyturnerscurse

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

I thought Gran Sasso was the bet of the day too....back from a spell, gelded. It all added up to a first-up win. But stick with him. Do you think Predatory Pricer will run two miles, with the Takeover Target relationship? Did you see Takeover Target gallop with Solo Flyer in a trial? The old boy was under a strong hold while Solo Flyer was being urged along, but couldn't catch him. Amazing gelding!

Agree wth this. Was actually a pretty ordinary meeting in Sydney yesterday for an alledged showcase day of racing.

PRE Punters Club

Dyer'ere is back in town and PM'd me about renewing his membership of the PRE Punters Club for 2009.

I feel obliged to ask all the other members if it is OK to let Dyer'ere the latecomer in on the action - or are we afraid he might take the award as PRE Punter of the Year?

What do you reckon?......RT

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Lets have the ol' fox in.

Leysy misses Jacks heartfelt jockey sprays. ;D

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

I vote yes for letting Jack in - love his views and whilst I don't always agree at least makes for interesting reading.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Ya just too well liked on this board Dyer'ere - not one nay vote - way to go champ.............RT
