The SC/DRAFT 2008 - discussion thread.

U2 can you post the rules up again as well?

This was from the old thread....

RULES for PRE SC Draft League.

1. A Full AFL Player list draft is used with the reverse draft order until all coaches have 30 players.

Picks go 1-16 16 -1 1-16. ( Pharace will post draft timings and order)

A player is not drafted until it is written on the PRE thread in the allowable times. The PRE time clock and these rules will determine any dispute.

2. each A player can only be picked by 1 coach.

3. Your drafted team needs to become able to be submitted onto a SuperCoach team, to b able to and compete under their rules. So positional and Salary cap rules need to be considered when drafting.

4. Captains and Vice Captains must be picked before season starts and after the draft is complete. There will be no changing of the 1 Captain and 1 VC after the season starts. If both get injured then bad luck. ( its like we have a real team )

The captain will be the one you use, VC is a backup for the captain going down ( choose wisely)

Draft Rules

5. The draft order will be done randomly (by Rosy or someone like that)

6. The draft timings will be set before even the draft starting, so all every Coach will know there their times to pick.

7. If you miss selecting a player in your draft timeslot timing the draft continues on. You will be allowed to make you missed pick during any subsequent time slot (not just your own) but it must be in the last 5 minutes of any timeslot. The PRE timeclock will be used to confirm or deny any picks chosen inside or outside the permissable allowance

8. Preference lists can be used given to another Coach to allow someone else to take nominate your pick if you think you will miss it. You do have to post to confirm that pick though.

9. INJURED PLAYERS WHILST DRAFTING - If one of your players gets injured whilst the draft is going on you have to wait until your next pick to delist him, then you obviously will have 2 picks for that turn.

10. Any undrafted players at the end of the draft go in a Player Pool - which then become the players people can trade into their side after once the season starts.

ISSUES with fitting under salary cap/ Player positions.

11. If you have problems as such you will need to delist any 1 or more of your players to ensure which will help you be able to can fix your stuff up. You will however only be able to use the pool players to fill your team them. The PRE timeclock will be used to confirm or deny any player delistings and re-listings. Time will always be of the essence The player you delist is open for anyone else to use on a first come first serve basis determined again by the PRE timeclock.

12. You can delist only during one of your draft turns or at the end of the draft. If you delist during one of your draft times then you obviously get 2 picks that turn.

13. Don't give up until the end of the draft. The whole comp is reliant on all 16 coaches being very active whilst the draft is on. There are small windows of exclusive times for you to draft with confidence, but other time (last 5 minutes of any time slot can be used to catch up. If you catch up pick falls outside the last five minutes, you risk losing that player if the person with that exclusive timeslot chooses that player.

TRADING DURING THE SEASON

14. A coach can trade for any pool player, however obviously in correct position as per SC.

15. Its a first in first serve thing. It is a requirement to Post the trade on the PRE thread first. The first to post that trade for a player gets to have him.

WHEN REGISTERING after the draft - Please tick the coaches chat box, and also use your name on here to have something to do with your team name on SC so we know whos who.

Any Questions.

First real chance I've had to get back on with Broadband since friday morn - thanks and congrats to everyone for their great generosity of spirit. Seems everyone did a little extra in some way. All things considered, the draft went smoothly and the timeslot approach kept it rolling with much dislocation to those who still needed catchup picks. It'd amazing some of the players left as Mids!

Congrats to U2 - he did put quite a bit of in on this :clap Kiwi, man where you helpful. Capt, very good team updates - thank you. Good luck everyone as you compete for 2nd to 16th ;D

For everyones information the trade rules are up - in a PRE RD1 trade thread.

Also expands on the rules for submitting team lists.

Interesting some of the players not taken:

M  (PTA) 83. RODAN, David        $482,100
M  (RIC) 128. TIVENDALE, Greg        $441,900
D (MEL) 242. HOLLAND, Ben $374,500

Some bias coming through  ;)

Yep, all my 30 are crossed off

Does the delisting have limitations or is it for any coach to delist anyone and redraft from the pool?

I've missed something. What does it mean that we have to check that our side is crossed off? Does it mean we go back thru the main list and check that all the players we chose have a line ruled thru them?
