The RIP thread

RIP Al Molinaro who played Big Al (Delvecchio) in Happy Days. He was 96.

"Yeeeep, yep, yep, yep, yep, yep"

Jona Lomu - One of the greatest Rugby players I have ever seen. Aged 40. Way to young.
R.I.P. Thanks for the memories

seriously? that's terrible news. Saw him being interviewed during the world cup.
He (mainly) got me interested in Rugby, watching the World Cup years ago with kiwi house mates, and him smashing through any opponents that dared to get in his way.
His career was saddly cut short by kidney disease

R.I.P

Just heard the news.

What an athlete. When I first saw him play my friend and I were simply amazed at this athlete who was so quick and strong. Got me interested in the game back then and following NZ.

When I heard what he passed away from brought back memories of my dad who passed away young from the same illness.

RIP J Lomu and dad.

Sorry to hear Jonah Lomu passed away so early in his life. Watching him those years ago I could only dream of what it would have been like if he had been an Aussie Rules player and played for us. Reckon we would have won five GF in a row, unstoppable class.

Should also mention the passing of Warren Mitchell aka Alf Garnett from 'Til Death Us Do Part' a couple of days back. Loved watching that show in the 60's and 70's. Alf was a very funny character and was actually a send up of real life bigots and racists. Mitchell himself was caring, decent bloke and would heap scorn and ridicule blinkered people who would come up to him and congratulate him for standing up against immigrants and liberal social values.

Pity Mitchell leaves the world at a time when so much bigotry and hatred against immigrants and foreigners is increasing.

Not a rugby fan but can recall being transfixed by Lomu in '95. Was so good, he had me barracking for NZ!

"That" try. 30 secs into the semi or quarter against England in 1995 is the stuff of legends.

6'5", 118Kg, running the 100 in 10.8 - Freak.

RIP Warren Mitchell (aka Alf Garnett)

He died 5 days ago at 89 years of age and I just found out now!.....bloody marvellous innit?
