I don't like the concept that the captain can substitute potential delistees. As was mentioned it then becomes strategic rather than just looking for the best player.
It does become a bit like that, although in this case I thought the correct decision was made. I felt Johncock was put in the potential delistees a little unfairly as his injury prevented him from participating in everything until the assessment and he performed well in that, winning the beep test.

I think he was put in the bottom 3 because he seems to be the most disliked (dont blame them) and could also be seen as a potential threat. Dont like how the players can decide that stuff though, the smart thing for them to do therefore would to just try and get rid of their biggest threats and not the weakest players.

The strategy will really come out as they get further into the competition. Clearly the captain for the week didn't see him as a threat because he elected to remove him from the bottom 3 and put in someone else, who as it turned out was the player they cut.

Anyone still watching this? I am and you can see why Johncock has been in the bottom 3 quite regularly and why he was delisted today. He's soft, he's a terrible mark and not a great quick. Other than being very fit, he has nothing going for him as a footy player.

I'd take Manson today to Richmond. This show seems to have shown him what he gave up a few years ago when he left the draft and I think he now realises this is what he wants. Looked great in their game against the cops, scored a few, looks a good mark and has good agility. I know difficult to tell from just their snippets of the game but from what they have shown he looks like he could make it. I like he Jackal too, haven't seen much of kicking or marking but he's really tough and looks like he wants to really get stuck in. I think Reece and Joey (don't really know any surnames!!) both look like they may have the talent to potentially make it.

Ps. Vossy was ruthless dumping one right after the game.

Cuting a player midway was brutal. However I think they had to find a way to cut more than one player per episode for an episode or two because they brought in the 2 internationals. The longer this thing goes the better Waylon looks. Bradie Foster needs a pep talk from the psychologist, it worked wonders with Waylon. I had to feel for Bradie getting monstered in the ruck by Peter Street in the police game.

Wouldn't mind Dixon at Tigerland.
No thanks... That was the most contrived made for tv spray of all time... He is basically an actor on the show... Came across so lame having one of the softest players to play the game doing something like that.

I like it when he is the casual funny light hearted guy it's much more natural.

Claimed on League Teams that it wasn't got up. Said he'd been trying to get that message across to the player from the start and he just lost it when he still wouldn't do it. Also said that if he hadn't known it was being filmed he would have been even worse in regards to the language used.

IMO none of them stand out as AFL players. Bradie us just too soft and not good enough, Waylon is going to give you headaches with his attitude, Jackal too small and not skilled enough, the 2 new internationals aren't going to be given AFL contracts this soon, they'd need a heap of state league experience first.

Haven't seen much of the Irishman in action but with his size and Gaelic experience he should be a shot. The Yank is coming from a long way back.

Manson has the talent but you still feel like he'll want to go home every second week. That said, I hope he makes it - would be a great story.

Of the rest, Johan has the speed and running ability and has dominated when they've played. Reece Maxwell (not McKenzie as I posted earlier - that's the under 18 FF) has similar attributes too.

At this stage, Manson, Johan and Maxwell are the top three for me.

It's a good concept. I reckon they're onto a winner. I'd much rather watch this kind of 'reality' show than The Block, The Bachelor or The Voice.

That's pretty much my opinion of the best 3, too. Apparently it's rated quite well for Fox.

I'm sure he did say that... But it's reality TV

Fairly entertaining 'reality tv' show.

Most look pretty ordinary footballers though.
Of all of them Johann Wagner looks like he has the most to offer.

Waylan is playing for Beaumaris in the VAFA. Mate of mine who watches them said he does about 4 or 5 spectacular things a game that include mark and goal of the day however that's about it. Doesn't have the fitness to stay involved for an entire game. Cameo footballer.

My bet is on Reece Maxwell atm.
Yeah, it's certainly out of he and Moreland. No chance the internationals. Doubt Jackal is AFL quantity.
That leaves Moreland, Wagner and Maxwell.

The recruit website says the winner gets a 'guaranteed' spot on on AFL list! Does anyone know how a reality tv show can guarantee a club will take him?

I'm sure it will be one of the new 'Team AFL' franchise teams.

Even still, for a broadcaster to have access to a teams list seems ridiculous.
