The Official "RFC Coaching Position" Discussion Thread

"He wouldn't surrender a hard-earned place in football history without a fight. Richardson had a guard specially made for the injured joint, to be worn under a long-sleeved jumper. Pumped full of pain-killers, he fronted up for a searching fitness test with Magpie coach Leigh Matthews with 10,000 fans looking on as the Pies conducted their final training session.

For a brief moment, he appeared to have got through. But Matthews, never the sentimentalist, wasn't convinced. He went for a walk and a chat with his young defender. As he relaxed, the coach delivered a sudden, and solid, hip and shoulder. Richardson was in agony. By the next morning, he could barely lift his arm above his head, his dream shattered."

Sheesh. And people here reckon Francis Bourke was tough on Malthouse.

I'm not sure that Hinkley would be any good.

based on what?

Just my thoughts on him as a player compared to Hardwick & Richo as players. Admittedly, it's not the correct way to assess him as a coach though.

I reckon a board meeting has been scheduled for Monday night for the final two presentation and then a decision on Tuesday which is true to the 10 days. One thing about March he has stuck to his timelines to a tee this year, so expect a decision on Tuesday. No more Tuesday with Terry wooo hooo ;D

gotta say though, regardless of who they pick, things have gone (...so far) remarkably to plan- with no big embarrassing media leaks, no knee jerk decisions or 'scope-creep' based on outside pressures, only 'offcial' announcements from the club to inform the interested folk at each stage of the 'process', and a final announcement to be made roughly in the last week of the H&A season- all as planned....
all we need now is for all this effort and apparent professionalism to turn up the right man for the job...

I'm happy to stick with The Boss' call. It's either Hardwick or Hinkley. The Boss is generally on the money.
