Quite a few similarities between Franklin and Richo's careers, including the way they hurt their knees. Fingers crossed that he's OK.

Rain didn't suit the Hawks, but doubt it made a lot of difference. Just not enough quality when Franklin & Rioli are held.

Johnson's last quarter was utter rubbish, Varcoe & Stokes are suspect. I don't see Geelong beating Collingwood in a GF without more goals from their mids.

Johnson played like a rockstar tonight.

They will not win a premiership when he plays like that.

Felt for Menzel.
Looked gutted in the rooms and is a real quality player.

Schoenmakers was a massive weak link in the Hawks team and Chris Scott tried to exploit it at every opportunity.

One player who doesnt get enough credit is Ling. Another fine tagging job tonight. Kept Mitchell unsighted for most of the game.

The Hawks look shot now.

Its been reported that Buddy might have done his posterior cruciate and a possible crack in his tibea.

It's all relative L2R. Rioli was rubbish.

True, but not as spendthrift as Johnson. He's had three bags this year - 2 v GC, 1 v Melbourne. Must play the percentages in finals to help the team. I've got no doubt he'll be told as much at the review.

Very true.
Ling is solid.

Rarely lets his team down.

He does the team things that noone notices.

Re: West Coast Form

I reckon if the weather wasn't freezing and the crowd not 99 percent in the Pies favour, that West Coast would just about win the match.

If it was at Subiaco,I'd nearly have em as favourites but here, an entirely different kettle of fish.
We shall see what both teams do.

Really intrigued by this game.

Shaw is a massive in.

James Kelly. Most underrated player in the comp. 3 votes.

Completely agree. Great call. Now an elite two way midfielder.

Has really stepped up in Abletts absence.

I thought Wojo played well and handled the ball very well in the conditions.

Playing with supreme confidence isnt he. Getting better with age.

Geelong arent but should be flag favs. Premierships are historically won by teams with settled sides with momentum.

As opposed to Collingwood Geelong have those two things.

As well as a dominant ruck combination compared to Jolly who only has Graham ahead of him of current AFL 1st rucks.

Re: West Coast Form

Pies carrying some niggles and suspect fitness to a few.

Will get over the Coasters unfortunately, if the Eagles could knocke em over that would just about the best weekeend ive had in ages ha ha ha

Cmon Eagles FFS just one upset thats all we want.

They are not without a chance but conditions travel the MCG and Feral Woods fans doesnt make for a happy prognosis for the Coasters.

Re: West Coast Form

No Ben Reid is a huggggggggge loss.

The backline looks shakey.

After this game Hawthorn would look at any tall defender going around.
Mcguane & Thursfield could be on there radar

Agree. Apart from five minutes in the third he was horrible. Casual. Lair.

Schoenmakers though might have had the worst game anyone's ever had.

Another good 'un down back for the Cats was Hunt.

Apart from the Ottens gift, Geelong also drafted Kelly with the pick we sent to Sydney for Stafford.

Would be absolute gold to see the Pies get rolled tomorrow.

I have to go the other way, even though it is Collingwood.

Living in WA is unbearable at the moment.

A 100 point hiding at the G would do nicely.

Clarkson should've kept playing his stars.

Rioli looked like he took the week off in the pub.

Was really surprised that they rested them the week before the finals and so many at once
This year we have seen most teams struggle coming off the bye

C'mon Streaker take one for the team, team anyone but Collingwood to be precise

Actually to be more accurate team anyone but Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon, Hawthorn or Sydney

The AFL draw sucks, how can a team that wins only three games against top 8 sides finish fourth. Get on the pies.

The teams below them in the 8 beat no more than 4 top 8 sides so it is not that remarkable.

It would be great if they won because then only one of Essendon , Carlton and Collingwood would be still hanging around by week 3 of the finals.

I could be very wrong in saying this but West Coast is no chance.

They have had the softest draw in living memory.

LOL you said they were gone 8 weeks ago.

I give them a sneaky chance especially if the talls fire up.

I didn't figure on their run home. And you must admit they dug deep in a number of games, credit to them.
