After a win last night the focus moves to the great man's 300th next week.

Let's use the next 8 days to post about our best memories of one of the greatest players in the history of the game. Most of all let's get to the match next Saturday and flood the MCG in a sea of yellow and black.

A couple of memories to start the ball rolling

The qualifying final 2017 one on one with Tom Stewart when he left him in his wake, Dusty to Jack, Jack to Dion and goal. It was the moment I dared to dream.

The Prelim final 2017, that glorious day when we packed the MCG with 90,000 Tiger fans. First goal last quarter ...Dusty, Dusty...Dusty !!!!

Bring it on

All the memories of the highlight reel blend into one but which final was it that he made a point of marching up to Dangerflop and shoving him in the chest after Danger’s dive and goal. Dusty made it obvious what he thought of him. I always remember that.

So many highlights of the Goat.
Settled for the Anticipation of Stanley handballing too Dangerfield. Dusty steals it and shrugs off Dangerfield to kick a goal.In the 20GF.
Enjoy

Never appears in the Duz highlight reels (and haven't been able to locate the vision since), but the day he held off Harry O'Brien with one hand and gathered the bouncing ball in the other, only to break free and kick the snag, that was the day I knew he was not your usual pick 3.

I know the exact moment, and also find it odd that it’s never included in his highlight reels

That.
So many layers and elements to savour and enjoy in that short magical piece of play. It’s like watching the Mona Lisa being painted, or the Statue of David being sculpted.
The fact is was an incredible goal, in a grand final, embarrassing the cats and humiliating diverflop, you can’t ask for much more than that.
Exquisite. A masterpiece. Poetry in motion.

2020 Grand Final will always be #1 on my list for Martin performances. His first 3 goals were ridiculous in their skill level and were crucial when he put them through.

Then he dropped that massive cherry on the cake with his last goal, just taking the *smile* out of the Cats.

2017 - line ball we win without Martin
2019 - we would have won regardless
2020 - without Martin, we wouldn't have won that Grand Final

But for all three of those Grand Finals, doubt we would have made it to the big dance without him.

From that same game BT calling him "Mustin". I'll never forget that.

I loved that. It started the fight back and Danger disappeared after that.
