The Blair "Which?" Project

Current situation is this
Benny and board have had a “ little” fall out
Why ?
Benny has made it clear he wants Simon
Board ain’t overly happy as they make the decision
Not Benny
Watch this space
That's funny.
Regardless of what esteem anyone may happen to hold Benny in after his wonderful career at Tigerland. The blokes packing up the kit bag n buggering off to Taswegialand to set up a new opposition to us. There's simply no way in hell that anything Benny would " want ' in regard to his replacement would be relevant to three fifths of SFA.
The current board perhaps might ask his considered opinion regarding certain prospects as a courtesy for all he's achieved, but that's it. No chance the tail gets to wag the dog as he waltzes out the door.

Article in the papers today where O'Rourke says Gale isn't involved in anything strategic. He's basically got 2 jobs left - one of which is the redevelopment.
I'm calling BS on Gale wanting Matthews.

Imho I’d be shocked if Benny been the great Tiger he is that he didn’t say around the water cooler who he’d think would be worth talking to for the role , he may well not say a word about his replacement, however with Benny’s history at the club I’d just be a little surprised and I’d be even a tad more surprised if O’rourke didn’t ask
Benny his thoughts over a glass or Red on the procedure

How much more crap do you dream up??
Stig seems to have an axe to grind, or multiple axes, and the people he talks to also have the same axes.

The club has engaged a search firm, already been reported. We have professional people on the Board many of who would have been through CEO appointment before. The search firm would be canvassing opinions and talking to people, that’s what they do initially, and one of the people they would be talking to is the outgoing CEO. That’s normal practice and they would be negligent if they didn’t. A short list will be the result.

Benny would obviously know any internal candidates but he would also know others.

We should just let the process play out, professional search firms and professional Boards know how to handle any bias an outgoing CEO may have. They would simply run internal candidates through exactly the same process as any external candidates. If you don’t want that you don’t engage a search firm, and we have.

I think there's a difference between being asked an opinion or giving a reference and "wanting" Someone so much it causes a fight with the board.

One of those I could see Gale doing, the other I couldn't.

That's right. As if Benny's gonna f*ck us up now. I'll be looking forward to the many 'Yze is about to be sacked' bs in the short term from Twig.

Do you understand what a CEO does at an AFL club?

Do you understand the role of a CEO of a $80m business?

Do you understand the kind of attributes required for this position? Its no shame if you don’t.
Is it answering questions with questions?

Has anyone actually looked at what sacking Yze would look like??

Have appoint an interim coach then find a new senior coach for next year. Not sure how many would want the job.

Players would have a new game plan for the interim coach then a new one next year.

Or we can continue with Yze, get some players back. Then make some list decisions at the end of the year. Yes going to have some pain for the rest of this year. Nothing we haven't seen before and over come eventually

Not having a go at you TigerPort, but I don't think there are any posters with credibility calling for Yze to be sacked this year. Gotta give him a few years at least.

Just dumb founded any Richmond supporter would seriously give it air. The alternative would be far messier than sticking with Yze for his full contract

I agree 100% but apart from the messiness it is just the wrong decision. Noone in their right mind would think that he would have been given a fair and reasonable chance to succeed given the hand he has been dealt so far.

The absolute last thing Yze needs right now is the supporters turning on him, we need to show support.
