The Adam Treloar situation and the AFLPA

you don't know if its true of course, but if it is, the pies saying they'll pay $100k of his wage is laughable. All things considered, them stumping up $250 would be a starting point for negotiations.

This whole circus is freaking hilarious.

LOL at Treloar walking back to first day of pre season at the Holden Centre (is it still called that?) knowing the club and players hate his guts but he still collects his $900K!

I think its called

The Debacle Centre of Excellence for Mismanagement

Now.

I think they are in negotiations with the Klu Klux Klan for naming rights?

I think that's low. 300k is what they should eventually be hit with I reckon. 600k for Treloar is probably marginally unders, but then again it's the Pies who are the desperate sellers.

I agree, thats why I said 250 as a start, could go to 350, maybe even more, considering the situation and depending on how things play out. How much a club wants him v how much the pies don't could see them paying anything between 150k and 400K to play somewhere else.

I just can't see any other club paying $900K per annum for him.

Plus, why would you bail out a competitor?

I thought that was late clarified as some of the senior group accepted that Treloar leaving was the best thing for the team. i.e. relieving cap space so others could be signed.

But I tell you what, I'm not sure anyone expected this complete reversal so quickly from love and connected to *smile* off, you are just an under-performing tradable asset. I imagine plenty of Pies players would question what loyalty they had to the club and Uncle Bucks
All smoke and mirrors. No substance to their "connectedness".

I was watching that AFL trade show.
Someone sent in the message "why isn't Richmond chasing Trealor"
Answer "because what he said about their list 5 years ago"
Ha!
That line has came back to haunt poor Trealor many times.
He'll never live it down.

There's just something about this guy I really don't like. I can well believe his team mates didn't want him.

Adam spoke too soon.
Is it obvious yet I don't like the bloke? I reckon the story about the players wanting him gone is true.

Clubs should be united on this.
They could all send Collingwood into free fall.
Fingers crossed a dumb club like Footscary don't bail them out of this mess.

There is too much of a win on offer for a club to not exhaust every avenue into getting Treloar. First tasty morsel would be force Pies to pay $250-$300k p/a for next 5 years of Treloar contract.
Second would be to offer a 2nd Rd pick for him
Third would be getting Treloar to take a pay cut by explaining that due to Pies mismanagement he is being overpaid.
It’s too enticing for these AFL gun slingers not to have a crack

No wonder McGuire has been very very very quiet in regards to every thing Collingwood, his silence is deafening, I think you owe Adam an explanation Eddie.

"Collingwood president has laughed off growing trade rumours that Adam Treloar may be set to depart the Magpies for the Gold Coast Suns after news his partner is moving to Queensland.
The main thing there for me is that Adam Treloar for the second year in a row has said he wants to play for Collingwood, and I think if you asked Jordan De Goey he'd say the same thing. I'm not that fussed about any of that situation. We only finished playing on the weekend.
That's grist for the mill at the moment - every story is about players moving. I'm confident that both those boys will be at Collingwood next year."

Adam Treloar was left “broken-hearted” by his exit from Collingwood, but the club says it only happened because of his wife.

Collingwood has incredibly claimed Adam Treloar would still be playing for the Magpies in 2021 if his wife had not made the decision to continue her netball career in Queensland.

Treloar’s wife, Kim Ravaillion, is an Australian player who used to play for Collingwood’s netball team but took the 2020 season off to give birth to the couple’s daughter, Georgie.
She fielded offers from several clubs after making a decision to return to the sport before signing with the Queensland Firebirds.
It wasn’t an easy call given it would mean taking Georgie to live interstate away from Treloar, and prompted Collingwood to see if their 27-year-old midfielder, who was contracted on big money through the 2025 season, wanted to follow her north.
What followed was one of the messier exits a star player has had from an AFL club.

Treloar and Ravaillion’s names have been in headlines almost daily since and the saga – which included him being linked to the Gold Coast Suns for a time before being sent to the Western Bulldogs – didn’t end until the final day of the AFL Trade Period.
But to make matters worse Magpies list manager Ned Guy has claimed the club would not have even considered moving Treloar if Ravaillion hadn’t chosen to play for the Queensland Firebirds.
“We had some conversations with Adam and (his manager) Tim (Hazell) originally around whether his family was going to move to Queensland and whether he wanted to do that and it evolved from having that conversation to he thought he’d look at another opportunity,” Guy told Fox Footy.

Asked directly if Collingwood would have looked to trade Treloar if Ravaillion had chosen to continue her career in Victoria, Guy said: “That was the catalyst for the discussion. We wouldn’t have looked to have that discussion … it wouldn’t have evolved from that, I wouldn’t have thought, no.”
Guy’s statements – that Treloar “thought he’d look at another opportunity” and the Magpies weren’t considering trading him until his family situation changed – contrast with the snippets we’ve heard from the Treloar camp.

Treloar’s manager Tim Hazell said his client was disappointed “to get the tap on the shoulder”.
As the final day of the trade period began and Treloar’s future was still unsecured the Herald Sun’s Jon Ralph said “people close to him say that he is broken-hearted”.
After the Magpies sent him to the Dogs along with picks 26, 33 and 42 in the draft in exchange for pick 14, Treloar’s close friend and former GWS teammate Sam Darley tweeted: “One day all will be revealed but all I can say is Ads is one happy man to be a Western Bulldog but as much as it’s a business the way he was treated was embarrassing. Understand it’s a business but wow hope it’s all told one day.”
Treloar is scheduled to hold a press conference at Whitten Oval on Friday.

$600k is probably not unders but a good deal for someone with his dodgy hamstrings now and getting on in age. Not to mention his anxiety disorders and tricky family situation.

The holes getting bigger for the pies!

Obviously Treloar should have told his wife to stay in the kitchen...

Scumbags. They should be completely and utterly ashamed of themselves for the way this has happened. Regardless of what treloar has said or done in the past this is a disgusting way to treat an employee who did the right thing by them in renegotiating his contract to help them out when they were in need. They *smile* up badly and are making every excuse under the sun to make it his and his wife’s fault. IMO this will have flow on effects in years to come for them. Who is going to want to go to that *smile* stain of a club now? ( especially if your partner wants to, I don’t know, maybe work)
