Team v Brisbane.

no-one really deserves to be dropped,

but I'd go

Out: Naish
In: Chol.

Balta's gonna need to be 100% fullback on Daniher, Nank needs support.

I hadn't been expecting to beat Brisbane, thinking we dont have the cattle,

but a review of their form suggests we are reasonable evenly matched without our midfield,

and they have Neale, Lester and Gardiner out. Apart from the Port win, they've been bullying crap opposition; Essendon, Carlton, freo, suns. And they only beat Collingwood by 1 point.

After our stirring win, and the 2nd coming of Bakes, I'm now thinking this one is a toss of the coin.

we really want Rhys Matheson to hold his spot

gonna be a great weekend for the fellas with the whole list in warm sunny Far North Richmond
If, and it’s a big if, they drop, someone to fit in another tall, I don’t think it will be Chol. He’s burned us too many times before. He’s a break glass in case of emergency type of player now. CCJ is more likely.

the mere mention of Chol coming in against Brisbane at the Gabba brings back too many bad memories. He was utterly useless the last time that happened

Yeah, night in Queensland doesn't suit big blokes, but Brisbane do have a fair number of big blokes so I would be tending towards finding a way to get CCJ in, just think he would stretch them, improve our forward line by taking another defender and also give Nank a bit of a break having a tall big 2nd ruck as a chop out.

I would maybe drop Mansell since he has had a few games and is still developing. Like what I see but still young and has some work to do. He's one for the future and will lose his spot when a few others come back. Maybe the AFL could drop a couple of umpires back to the VFL too, in a slower paced game they might be able to recognise when Mansell gets his head ripped off.

Can't see them picking Shedda as we want him right for the rest of the year, not worth the risk. Prestia I thought was no chance yet.

If it will be dewy then we really need to sort out the ball handling as it has been sub-standard in dry games of late.

From what I hear Prestia will play (but with the gabba surface being dewy at night, id give him another week as he's coming back from a calf injury).
Edwards likely, but I wouldn't be surprised if they err on the side of caution and give him another week and he plays against the Crows at the G

Aide from selection, the focus this week has to be improving the way we attack. Watching the GWS game back, our forward line still isn't functioning. Combination of poor inside 50 movement and forwards not marking/taking opportunities.

Three things I most want to see:
- Forwards must lead up at the ball carrier - don't stand still. Keep moving.
- Small forwards must be at the feet of the key forwards - getting sucked too far up the ground during general play.
- No bombs to the top of the square unless there's absolutely no other option.

One of the problems we face is in the ruck.
They have McStay and McInerney rucking and we cannot expect Nank to combat those two on his own.
What the answer is I just don't know.
Chol, for me, is not up to AFL standard and we all seem to agree that Balta has to stay in the backlline.
Conundrum!!

It would be nice to see another Tall selected. But Hardwick after seeing Vickery, Griffens, Elton and McBean has been traumatized.

I think it will be no change.

I’d like to see:
In: CCJ
Out: Lynch or Riewoldt (rested)

I would rest one of the big guys. Allows us to reward the good reserves form of CCJ, and gives us a bit more in the back up ruck position.

it’s a long season, give one if the big boys the week off.

I hit the ladder predictor late last night,

and I have our game on Friday night

essentially deciding the minor premiership o_O

and also a 50% chance of deciding the major premiership

Where'd the chaps end up @eZyT ?
Garry Lyon and Gerard Healy already have them hanging off the balcony at Melbourne Town Hall with the keys to the city having just completed the ticker-tape parade:rolleyes:

Of the kids you can only justify dropping Mansell. Not because he hasn't performed, but he's had a solid block of games and it would be good for him to drop back into a less competitive environment and work on his major weakness. In the VFL he needs to draw head-high tackles and make sure Umpires see and pay them.

Its just dawned on me why Mansell doesn't get protection for his head. The umps are deciding that because he's from Tasmania, they don't need to protect his head as he has a replacement.
