Team changes v Port

Without even looking at the replay was involved in the Maric and Ellis goals in the second QTR
And the McIntosh one. Three score involvements, no score assists.

Rosy, a goal assist is only an assist if you dispose directly to the person kicking the goal.
....

Ok. I think it was Fudge I asked about it once and explained it was anyone involved in the chain of possessions that led to a goal. Lamb22 has posted that definition before too.

That's a "score involvement" I believe.

Vickery and Griff in the same fwd line will be like 2 blokes in sumo suits on a jumping castle. Will be knocking into each other all day.

Yep.

Nope. Will both be knocking into Jack all day.

Dimma used that rationale this morning on the perseverance of Morris. But Morris isn't a PRE favourite, so Dimma clearly has no idea.

We just aren't going to agree on this so we shouldn't frustrate ourselves any further.

About time you admitted you were wrong.

Question a football talent like McBean and support a low iq type like Morris - no need for further discussion

He was rubbish. Collecting cheap stats and doing nothing with them doesn't mean you are effective.

He is one of the least effective footballers I have ever seen when time and space are tight.

He's no pressure player unfortunately. Laughable some quoting him as a potential AA. He needs to show he can cope with pressure.

The stats on the site that can't be named show Liam as 0 goal assists. I wonder if CD, or whoever does the stats, missed a few or if you're using different criteria.

You only need to watch the replay to see his impact on the 2nd quarter

I wasn't talking about impact. I was specifically wondering about goal assists. No doubt Liam did some nice things and showed some good signs for the future. It wasn't a top game just the same. I'm glad he got a taste and I hoped he'd stay in but not fussed either way at this stage.

If Liam, say, took a mark on the lead, spun around two opponents, and shot a handball out to a guy on his own, who then passes to the guy who kicks the goal, Liam doesn't get a goal assist. Even if he created the goal.

Thanks, you've covered it well.

Why look at one stat in isolation?

Football iq appears to be much underrated by Dimma. He is the coach though and will ultimately be judged on his results.

OMFG! McBean was dropped !

Wrong, AMPS. But nice try.

I never compared McBean and Morris. I compared the arguement on their respective places in the side. Please take the time to read the post correctly.

I read a post that mentioned it and responded to that comment. Ok?

Of course. But when judging his game we should consider more than just one aspect. He showed high football iq IMO, and it's a trait that should be rewarded. Get a team full of intelligent footballers and you've got something to work with.

He's playing Ellis & Menadue, our first two picks from last year's draft. Plus he debuted Drummond, our 3rd pick.

Not bad considering the pressure to make finals. He's got Thomas in the twos.

Edit: And he's playing one of the youngest teams in the AFL right now.

Don't even get me started on why Menadue is in....
Shown nothing yet in the VFL. Showed nothing last week in the AFL.

If i'm McBean or McDonough, I'm buggering off at the end of the year to a side that actually rewards hard work and form. No wonder White left.

WTF happened to earning a spot in the side? What's the point in having competition for spots if you completely ignore that competition, and just choose whoever the hell you feel like at the time?

McBean, McDonough, Elton, can't do much more than they've done at reserve level. Menadue hasn't done squat. Morris has been underperforming all year.

What incentive is there to work hard if working hard doesn't get you anywhere? Does it help Menadue to be gifted games he's not ready for, then when he struggles for a couple of weeks, he'll get rubber stamped as no good like Elton, and McDonough before him (both brought in to the side before the ready and with no form) and then be banished to the reserves for three years.

I know you didn't. You constantly criticised posters on overstating mcbeans ability and made a supportive statement about dimmas love of Morris. I think you've got it wrong. That's ok isn't it?
