Talking Politics

More detail will come out on the ombudsman’s report on the politicisation of the public service in Victoria released today but one terrible fact that has emerged is that the premier’s staff in Victoria is more than that for the premier of NSW and the prime minister combined.
I have posted about the centralisation of power under Andrews and the fear in the public service before. Hopefully this will change under a new Premier.

It shows what type of ego was in power.

Starting to get really annoyed by the lies being perpetuated by the RW Media and LNP (especially Dutton) that Labor is to blame over the release of the 140 asylum seekers. They are treating everyone as fools.

so lets be clear on this:
1. The high court decided the law was unconstitutional. Not Labor.
2. Not only did the former LNP government draft this legislation that turned out to be unconstitutional, but Dutton himself was the minister responsible.

It shows what type of ego was in power.

he had such a big ego and craved the power so much, he secretly handed 5 ministries to himself... oh wait!!!

Its not only the right wing media but mainstream media in general. The ABC are perpetuating it, Steve Price lied about it on the Project last night and no-one pulled him up on it. If the media reported objectively rather than essentially using talking points fed to them by the politicians then the LNP especially but also the ALP would be unable to get away with it.

There is no doubt that this is not the ALP’s fault Ian but you would have thought the government would have been briefed by the solicitor General or someone like that on the potential consequences and been a little better prepared.
It seems like it is a surprise ?

It’s not a competition for the biggest ego. Andrews was an egomaniac premier in the end, drinking his own bath water. SCOMO was a narcissistic PM surrounded by a river of sleeze.

What's happening with the NACC? Everyone very excited when it was finally launched but haven't heard a peep out of them since. I can only assume they are all hands on deck with the Robodebt corruption. But expected to hear more from them than what we've seen.

It’s going Baloo. It is pretty quiet but according to the link there is quite a bit being investigated.

One of the things I know from IBAC is that we hear about the high profile stuff but the majority of what happens is lower profile.

Weak Australian government going pass laws where Australia Post do not have to make daily deliveries Mon-Fri. Australia Post is pathetic eg my new Mastercard posted last Monday week has not arrived. Parcel posted from Richmond Monday 27 Nov by Express post not arrived . AusPost tracker shows it has been to Sunshine West, Sydney South twice & Chullora. Last post in transit to South Sydney last Friday. Another one I posted a Express Post letter from Rockingham to Balcatta suburb north of Perth CBD some time 2021 distance about 55 ks. I got it back three weeks later.

Thanks @Sintiger, that's what I was looking for. OK, they're busy (not surprising after we just had a government led by Morrisson)

According to the bun fight in Parliament and reported in various meedjia. The High Court ruling was in regard to the one kiddie fiddler, not all 140 of these queue jumpers n crims. So the claim is that Knees n Elbows and his ministers *smile* the bed n dumped them all out on the public. They also did this without any form of constraints or checks on them. This matter has been dragging out through the courts for years, the last 18 months while Old mate Knees n Elbows and his crew were in charge, yet he was to busy faffing around the world pissing in the pockets of Sleepy Joe, Grandpa Xi and a whole bunch of other " world " dribblers, I mean leaders that neither he or his team had any idea they could lose the case and certainly no contingency plans organised if things went wrong.
Might be that Old mate n his mob got handed a *smile* stick policy, but guess who then proceeded to smear the *smile* all over themselves then try n bleat about the stink.

100% agree the losers are us. Our kids have no hope of getting reasonable services and infrastructure if money is wasted like this.

At the time of the report Dan Andrews had 82 staff in his office.

Meanwhile Jacinta Allan was asked today how many staff work in her office and she said I don’t know. Assuming this is not a lie.

How out of touch are these politicians that spending of tax payers money is of zero consequence?

This has been shown to be a lie perpetuated by the LNP and their media mates. Also a lie that they did it without any constraints given they had to have monitored ankle bracelets.

Agree. That's why I never liked Dan the Man. Allan's doing a good job so far. Hope she doesn't inflate hers later in time.
