Sydney Stack

I was told by a club person that Sidney definitely trained with Shai last year in WA over holidays.
That was last year , not this year . A lot has happened since then . And training 3 sessions ain’t much either
Interesting his grandfather passed away 14 weeks ago , so don’t know who’s funeral he was going back for , his family don’t even know . He actually went camping when he went back last Tuesday week . Amazing stuff !

Peos is no dill, and I'd bet my bottom dollar that if he knew about this, he would have been straight on the phone to the club. So the suggestion seems to be that Peos didn't know about it either.
Doubt his manager would've let him claim to the judge that he was in Perth for a COVID test. Was possibly worried about consequences and tried to handle it himself.

Dustin did some very stupid stuff and was lucky a lot was never public knowledge but he never made the same mistake twice (apaprt from maybe having too much to drink)
Holy crap i have lived my life making "stupid stuff" decisions....around alcohol.
I want to think he is getting the guidance required to move through this time, but ultimately the ball is in Sydney's court and he needs to want it enough to make it work. He has the skill to make it, now it's the attitude and behaviour he needs to own.

Whatever the outcome, the legend of Sydney Stack will live on whatever happens from here.
In all my years I’ve never seen a long shot, first year rookie make a bigger impression with both skill & hardness in snr footy.
Had more ability in his little finger than most & he's managed to play for the Mighty Tigers.
Anyone here could only dream of what he's already achieved.
Kids make mistakes. We all have.
Maybe just maybe the professional current day environment of the AFL just isn't for him.
It's not a hanging offence. Get off your *smile* high horses.

Agree with all except the last bit. He had the football poetry. That's why it's sad.

Perhaps some of us are angry because we feel personally let down. There is always bad press when supporters represent the club badly, and the club reserves the right to cancel memberships etc. Why shouldn't similar expectations apply to players?

I'm a little disappointed in the club also for not being on top of the situation after various people flagged warning signs.

The club will make decisions based on its best interests. I myself might well have cut Syd after the last indiscretions but none of that changes what I’ve said.
Syd made a big splash.

Wrong
Tip of the iceberg today I am afraid
You might find the “ playing group “ were glad to see his backside out of the hub . Doesn’t matter how talented you are with a football, our club is built on values and good people . End of story !

Cool like i said, well done.

End of story.

Well said.

I think the general feel is right but some of the comments on here are atrocious but not unexpected.

It'll probably be official at some point and the "I told you so" brigade will cheer from the balconies but until then I don't understand why people feel the need to get on their high horses.

I understand he ain't everybody's cup of tea but sigh... Anyway, glass houses... all that.

Next.

Was definitely worth a punt and his 2019 form validated that. And good on the club for giving him a chance when nobody else would. The club culture got the best out of him but being a human he could ever get far enough away from his old life.
sad but that’s life. Wish him the best and move on.

Shattered. Very sad news.

For those saying people make mistakes, well this wasn’t a mistake. It was planned ahead of time in the aftermath of his first breach.

Sydney could need a number of years on the list before he matures. That’s easier to grant if he’s well-liked and trusted within the club.

Unfortunately, on here it’s hinted that’s unlikely to be the case.

Perhaps review the reactions on insta to his ramblings ,,,,crickets

Sad as this may sound, I have never used any social media other than PRE, if that even counts :)

I did take your advice though and checked out Instagram and Facebook via google.

Unfortunately on Instagram all I could really see was pictures and not a lot of intelligible comment, let alone ramblings from Stack. I couldn't work out how to view the comments in chronological order, so to me at least it made little sense. I couldn't understand 90% of the stuff I was reading.

Stack's Facebook doesn't seem to have been updated in quite a while?

I didn't even try Twitter, it all just got to hard................

Give me PRE any day. The threads keep you on the track of some semblance of a conversation, it is in chronological order, and people generally try to communicate in something resembling English.

Must be sacked. Had enough chances and just isn't getting it.
Wasted his chances.
