Read the ladder upwards ... yes we have played the bottom two sides.
But we haven't played ANY of the next four, and two of them we get to play twice.
That's just about six more guaranteed wins. 13 in all. Finals already.

We no longer aim for finals, only premierships.

In previous seasons if round 9 came around with the top 2 teams clashing, both with only one loss, both two games clear of third, one being reigning premier, it would be pumped up as the match of the season, cancel all appointments, compulsive viewing.

Looking forward to reading and hearing all the media hype heading into our game on Sunday.

There will be some hype, but its over there in the west and its on the Sunday twilight slot. To be fair, not many had Wet Toast anywhere near the top 8 when they did the draw.

It’s an obvious statement and yes those sides on paper are at the moment define more credentialed, however I don’t think any of those great sides played any better as a team.

Pfft... the Hawthorn sides were extremely lucky. Three preliminary finals all won by under a kick where they received the rub of the green on each occasion. And won during a time when other sides like us were hamstrung by the compromised drafts.

Agree. Hawthorn were a great side but they had a charmed run. Brisbane are way ahead IMO, but we may yet be as good. The use of the expression 'hold a candle' is annoying. we'd hold a candle all day. Maher has become a king sized goose in my book.
