So he has been announced as the new Cats CEO yet he's staying in his AFL chair until Thursday? How is that acceptable that a club aligned person can remain in his AFL role for any length of time?

Well he's changed every rule in the book to give Geelong an advantage so its fitting the twat goes back to the cattery once his work is done. Corruption and the AFL, name a better duo.

The rules committee should follow him out the door too, I don't care where they go as long as we can get footy looking like footy again.

I feel he may have been tapped on the shoulder. The game is now worse than when he started. Scoring is down despite being up in the first few rounds (they went the early crow on that one). Umpiring is worse than ever. The game is stop-start due to the *smile* stand rule. All run and flow is gone. It's a shambles.

Has a 500k bonus from Geelong tied to getting shorter quarters over the line.

At which point he would have completed all of the tasks, and proven worthy of taking his thrown at the Cattery.

Why is this *smile* finishing up immediately if he's not back at Geelong until the end of the season? Boned, or mission accomplished?

Conflict of interest. He has to go otherwise there is a risk he might start to favour Geesook!

As if a few more months would have mattered after the last 4 years of doing everything Scotty wanted.

HTF do you think he got the CEOs job at Geesook? Its reward for his last 4 years of doing everything they asked.

Surely Gill wasn't being serious with what he stated in the AFL article, if he believes half of the crap that he said then he can go aswell.

"
"It is a relentless job, but Steve has made an enormous contribution to the AFL and the wider AFL industry during his time in the role," McLachlan said.

"He is a values-driven leader who has brought calm, confidence and consistency to the operations of football across the AFL, AFLW, VFL, VFLW and NAB Leagues and his approach is much respected and valued by his colleagues and the wider industry.

"He has brought improvement to every aspect of the game, whether it's the growth of the NAB AFLW competition, the expansion of mental health and welfare initiatives across the clubs, rule changes that have opened up the game and made it more spectacular, the development and implementation of the ARC and the ongoing development of umpires.

"The football being played in this AFL season, and the earlier AFLW season, have each been exceptional and that is a testament to the work of Steve and his team.

"This is a great opportunity for Steve and the Geelong Cats for the next step in his career and he goes with our gratitude and blessings and I know he will continue to contribute to the industry in his role at clubland."

There's not a true word in the whole *smile* speech.

I'm truly conflicted whether Benny should go for the AFL CEO's role and sort out the mess at AFL House, or whether to say *smile* 'em and keep Benny at Tigerland where he can keep making us a better club.

I'm tempted to say *smile* 'em.
