We can't recruit, hawthirn finds Ceglar and picks up McVeoy

So you would have had no problem swapping our first round pick for McEvoy then Zip?

Has been the worst recruit that I can remember for a very long time, considering the price we paid.

Should only play if every other ruckman including Griffiths is injured.

Depending on your definition of a long time, but on a cost v ability basis I'd still give to Biddescombe for pick 9 and Mcmahon for 18 gold and silver medals. Have to think about bronze, he could be in the running. See how he goes next year

The Biddiscombe pick eventually became Jude Bolton, while the McMahon pick became Callan Ward. Both players who are/were A Graders.

Carlton traded the Hampson pick for Sam Docherty. The Lions then picked Lewis Taylor. It'll be interesting/exasperating to see how the aforementioned 3 pan out. I have a feeling we will be the only ones crying poor.

that can't be right, Taylor was picked in the 20s I'm sure, we traded Hampson for 32 right?

edit. Taylor pick 28, pretty close

Pick #32 2013 ND. Here's the guy - http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-20/george-hewett

Apologies PREers, not sure where Lewis Taylor snuck in. Must be our lack of true small forwards permeating my psyche. Pick 32 ended up being Andrejs Everitt (whose proved far more serviceable than Hampson), while 33 became Docherty. Either would've been better than Hampson.

At least the Dogs didn't benefit overly much from our charity with Jordy, when Ward took the money and ran. I still would have preferred to hang onto the pick and use it sensibly instead of wasting it on Terry's love child.

How did the champ go yesterday? I read he kicked a goal.
Not according to the report. Neither was he considered amongst the best. If recent events are anything to go by our selection committee will be considering him for a recall to the 1sts this week

From what I saw he was fairly quiet in the magoos, may well have rucked well however didn't see him doing a lot around the ground, same could be said for Grif

"We feel we could do with Shaun's competitive attack in the ball...."

Saw a half of the VFL and the big Hammer must have dropped 8-10 marks he got both hands to and in perfect position to mark. It was slippery granted, but also very comical. Almost feel sorry for the guy.

Dropped 3-4 marks in the three quarters I saw

Notice Cam Wood is doing well at Northern Blues. Carlton played the fame far better than us. We gave up what was pick 28 for their spud and they wisely got their ruck "insurance" as a mature rookie pick.

Hampson and Wood are similar quality of terribleness but at totally different costs.
