I did say round the ground not one specific area
But he didn't beat him around the ground. Hammer 8 disposals and 3 marks, Holmes 5 disposals and 0 marks. Where did he beat him?

Playing a game foreign to him. Ballpein has had 10 years more experience. 3 disposals and 3 marks more. Big deal.
Holmes had more CPs, more clearances and more 1%ers than Ballpein. ;D

So is that "outplaying" him all around the ground?

Hammer, like most of his teammates, played one of his worst games for the year, yet he wasn't beaten.

Well I wouldn't say Ballpein outplayed anyone.
But given Holmes had more CPS, 1% ers and more clearances than Ballpein I'd nearly call it an uneven draw in Holmes favour ;D

Wins a lot of hitouts but rarely hits one down the throat of an onballer on the move.

I agree. But Hampson was in the best form for us and couldn't give as a clear advantage which was a disappointment.

8 disposal seems his ceiling in disposal output:

Hampson game: 8 disposals (4&4) @ 100% DE, 114 metres gained, 3 marks, 22 Ho with 8 HOTA (36%).

His year ave is 8disposals & 2.5 marks so very much inline with that.

Hampson averages 8 disposals a game, Ivan averaged 8 CONTESTED possessions a game and 5 clearances last year. To be kind, Hampson is just an ordinary replacement.
