reads like Nick Cave writing about Shaun Hampson. Except Nick Cave wouldve severed an artery.

I burst a blood vessel in my temple and developed a twitch when i heard the news. Does that count?

Has he improved? Don't think so. Stats back this up unless you're looking at hitouts which is just the result of more game time as first ruck and they go more to the opposition and the ground than to our players.

It's not really that controversial that Hansel has improved this year, is it, Barnz?

Experienced rucks are hard to come by and Hammer is definitely better in the last few months. Cluncking marks, kicking goals and winning taps. Not controversial at all. A keeper. You pay him the going rate and use him to bring along your younger stocks. Old school rucks become battle hardened and last a little longer than you'd think. As long as it isn't crazy money it's not a bad deal.

With the possibility of Maric & Ty not being at the club. Maybe even Griffiths. who knows what the club have installed with him too, that could be 3 less talls at RFC or at least 2 of 3 gone. I think its wise to keep him at the club while they get another ruckman in or develop one. Hammer output around the ground has improved and getting more involve as the year progressed. he might not be the best ruckman in the comp but he might be the best RFC can get or have for the moment

He deserves two years after his improvement this year. The graph is heading in the right direction.

Lets hope he's on about one fifty a year n match payments then, If we happen to find a decent ruck no one will notice when he fades back to the magoos. If we don't find any but Hamster over the next two years, he's cheap n dodgy n we'll just have to manage.

Yep no doubt about it we have a beauty on our hands. Cough cough another outrageous list management mistake!

To be fair he is probably first in hitouts to disadvantage.

Some pretty damning stats there, though unfortunately our poor list management meant we didn't have much of a choice other than to keep him.
The most annoying thing is the fact that we gave up a 2nd round draft pick for him - Lobb went just before that pick and Nankervis just after.

Depth players should only be signed for one year deals. Granted Dan Richardson is still learning on the job and it's an easy rookie mistake to make. He'll learn from this.

:hihi :hihi he "learns" almost as much as Dimma.

The RFC is like football university. A lot of learning, not much doing.

Now we just need to trade/draft a number 1 ruckman so that Hammer can resume his natural position as back up guy.
