Gotta give the bloke his due. He is showing improvement, which I for one didn't think he had. We should be in no rush to bring back Ivan until he is 100% fit and played some time in the VFL.

To be honest I suppose it might be better if I just stopped reading or posting given the utter stupidity of some of the posts criticising Lennon, Astbury, Grigg, BEllis, Cotchin, Houli, Chaplin, Edwards and McIntosh.

The "real world"? Sheesh, in the "real world" of AFL footy Hampy has been an utter failure. 10 seasons, 10 good games, if he's lucky.

From a pure rucking perspective, Hampson is pretty much our best match up available against the modern athletic machine type rucks like Nic Nat (still clearly beaten, but the closest thing we have). No secret that Maric is on his last legs and struggling athleticly. That said, it's also no secret that Hampster has many glaring flaws.
Huge concern when, outside of these two, we only have a project ruckman (Soldo) and a project tall backman/ruck (Chol) on our books. Vickery, McBean, Griff, Mckenzie are blokes of ruck capable size, but none have shown much aptitude as full time rucks. Will never be anything more than part time pinch hitters.

Been injury prone for years. Has 4 game trots in him and that's apart from his generally hopeless marking and ground play. Oh did I mention his kicking? Should never ever have been recruited.
Hampson, to his credit, has been valiant and tried his best. but his best just isn't up to scratch.
