Sam Lloyd

Wasn't Lloyd's fault. It was the right play. Jack just fluffed it; dropped a simple handball. If he grabbed it as a he should have he would have just turned around and popped it through.

Dunno if it was right play, if it was, the handball was too loopy. But yeah Jack still should have put it through.

The one annoying thing about Lloyd, he's our best difficult shot at goal, tough angles, snaps, long bombs, but he regularly blows set-shot sodas, blown 4 or 5 this season?, gotta get rid of that.

Snake, he's kicked 23.7

That's 77% accuracy. That'd be elite. AFL average is about 50%.

I'm not disputing that, if he gets a tough shot, its put down your glasses. Set shot from 25-35 slight angle, dicey. Missed a soda yesterday, missed one against GC, missed one against Sydney, thats 3 out of not many. Could even be more. I'm a big fan, but this is frustrating.

Also I was wrong on him, I said he was a very good fwd but a battling midfielder. But he's been doing OK when he's been up the ground.

Just thought I'd ad this list of accuracy for players who've kicked over 10 goals in 2016.

http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_goal_kickers

Who would've thought Tom Liberatore and Jack Steven are the most accurate @ 84.6%! Then Alex Fasolo at 81% and Jack Martin at 80%.

Regardless of Jack's fumble and I'd almost refuse to pay it for the stuff up but how it wasn't a free for holding jack without the ball I don't know.

Is anybody else seeing Sam getting better generally. To me he seems to be a better all round footballer now.

Sam may be classed as a journeyman player but he works hard and knows where the goal is. Has improved out of sight since last season. Never be a star but a real contributor.

Think he has just got fitter! He has added some midfield time to his game not just small forward which means he can help the side more and is a more rounded player generally doesn't waste a possession.

He as improved on last year and deserves his place in the starting 18, the only issue last night I saw was that when he was in the backine he took longer than Atsbury to make a decision.

I was a hater Jack.

But not now.

He had talent but now he works hard. Fitness levels are where they should be and impacts further up field.

And can kick a goal.

We wasted our time on Gordon. It always seemed to be one or the other - except in the final when it was neither but should have been Lloyd.

When his career is over he is going to go back to a suburban or country league and tear it apart for a year or two as well.

Absolutely. Lloyd always looked a lot classier than Gordon. He's a super-smart player and makes up for speed deficiency with his other attributes. And has a damn good leap too. Has kicked 26 goals 9 behinds this year, is a sharp shooter. I wouldn't call him a journeyman, he's a quality AFL player playing in one of the toughest positions to maintain consistency, a small crumbing forward.

One of our quiet achievers. Turning into the type of player that when he gets the ball you expect something good to happen.

Now his got a bit of a tank , plays some good footy pushing up across the middle and delivering well into the forward 50, his upto 26 goals and about 14 touches a game this season. He is 27 at the start of next season

Yep, still has 4-5 seasons left though.

Maybe if he'd kicked 30 goals 2 behinds? Every player misses shots. I can't remember Lloyd missing too many sodas but if he does yet he keeps at the current accuracy percentage I'm extremely happy.

Bottom line is he keeps improving, I generally don't like midsize forwards who lack a yard, but Lloyd keeps playing solid footy. If we could land a genuine smash packing big bloke, Lloyd would Probally ad another 10 a year.
