Sam Lloyd

With his goal kicking ability Sammy last night just pushed Townser another spot back in the order i reckon.

Cotchin and Dave will play next week.

Baker and Garth will make way for the Skipper and Dave next week, they are the easy calls.

George and Dion may both play as well then Lambo will also return.

I reckon there is two spots on the bench up for grabs in our best side. I reckon right now it’s out of Conca, Higgins, Ellis, Lloyd and McIntosh. Think Townsend might be done.

Grimes. Rance. Broad
Short. Astbury. Vlastuin
Lambert. Cotchin. Grigg
Rioli. Riewoldt. Edwards
Butler. Caddy. Castagna

R. Nankervis, Martin, Prestia

Houli, Graham....(Conca,Higgins,Ellis, Lloyd,McIntosh)

Looking at that list, some good players are going to miss out.

Have feeling Butler won't make it back into the side due to lack of match fitness after injury. That will pave the way for Higgins. McIntosh will play so the leaves Conca, Lloyd and Ellis fighting for that last spot.

Cats midfield is slow and doesn't run hard ;D

There probably is something to that tbh Bretty. Cats mids are all pretty slow. However Lloyd still stood up and made crucial plays against Geelong. You can only beat who you're up against.

I think Lloyd is great. Wish he had that yard of pace he needs. A bit like Shane Heal needing a foot more height to play NBL.

I'd be happy for Sam to get another year, he's an outstanding 23-26 bloke on the list, comes in and does a job.
But, wouldn't begrudge him looking elsewhere for more opportunities.
The down side of him leaving, is Dusty doesn't have a date for the Brownlow.

Conca wont be dropped.
I doubt KMac will be dropped.
That leave Ellis Lloyd and Higgins to win the VFL premiership.
If Butler doesnt return that probably allows Higgins to win an AFL premiership.

Id keep Lloydy for 2019 if he wants to stay.

Id rather keep Sammy for another year than Corey Ellis on whats been shown the past 2 years.

I maybe wrong craig, however I have a small inkling that you don’t rate Corey Ellis, I’m not sure where I have come up with this conclusion, however my whole hearted apologies if I have misinterpreted your 3074 posts stating your opinion on Ellis C 8-

3074? I think you missed a couple

If Conca plays well next week then I think he might get a spot before Lloyd.
I would keep Higgins in before either of the two Ellis's.

Does all that is asked of him and more especially when it matters most - that bump in the last quarter as an example. However I feel that he will be Mr Unlucky come September trying to find a space in our 22.

Really admire Lloyd. Cut from the Swans but made the most of his talent with us. But I still think he needs an injury to happen for him to get into the finals squad.

Sort of player that could make a decent salary playing the country / minor leagues.

Was never listed with the swans. That was Nathan Gordon drafted same year
