Round 2: The garlic Uber ride games.

Was a positive for the umpires. As usual. :)

Been outstanding today as well, just quietly, backing up a near flawless round 1.
Except for all the throws they let go and the too high frees they are conned into giving, both of which are a blight on the game.

I think we need to get rid of prior opportunity. As it stands, for example, Dustin Martin and Some Dud have the same amount of time between taking possession and being tackled. Dusty goes the fend, Some Dud curls into the foetal position and meekly surrenders to the tackle. Dusty is penalised, the Dud gets a ball-up.

Prior opportunity is crap. Players know if and when they're going to be tackled immediately on taking possession. For 100+ years the smart ones instead knocked the ball on and play continued. Now we have concerns over congestion yet allow this get out of jail free card that increases congestion. It's not the umpires' fault, it's the old ladies who swallowed a fly at AFL HQ. Dipshits.

I'm not sure about dropping the rule, I think the speed of the game now would risk it becoming soccer or handball. No-one would take possession because the risk of a free in the tackle would be too great, I think the ball player deserves an advantage.

To me those examples just come down to making the right decision. If the player doesn't make a genuine attempt to dispose then ping them, like they did today. Just need the fans to understand that attempt can include the ball spilling out without kick or handball and it's ok.

What do you reckon we can get for Short?

A highly decorated career as a Richmond great.

Why would Hinckley give the tagging role to that bogan Jones and not the tried and tested SPP in the 1st half. Was expecting him to tag Daicos but was expecting SPP. He's been made to pay by making an awful decision there.

Frees 23-13, don’t need to see in favour of who. I wonder if we changed our yellow sash to a white one would the umps love us like they love Collingwood?

Just then, Frampton tries to back away from a tackler and gets caught, ball up. Would have been a free against Dusty.

*smile* me, has anyone on this forum ever had a positive thought about anything?

I genuinely wonder why so many people follow a game they seem to hate so much.
You take things way to seriously TBR.

I equate coming on PRE to having a chat about footy with a bunch of mates at the pub. Have a laugh and a few beers, speak sh!t, whinge about the umps, and generally let off steam after a hard week working/studying/parenting etc.

You're the guy who leans over from the next table and corrects every inaccuracy and totally kills the vibe.

Maybe start a forum where every comment that is made has to be positive only and verified by 3 independent sources before it is posted.
