Round 2 - other games

Lions have made a total meal of their opportunities the last 7 mins.

At last, Neale. Well done.
C'mon Red, can't you see they're under pressure from that powerhouse premiership favourite Bummers.

Yep the Kochies, and their Never Tear Us Apart horseshit is still the most cringeworthy nonsense going around but they are clinging to it.

Blues are interesting atm. They are fully screwed down in March. Sure, they have plans to freshen up.

Importantly their list is ripe with only a few veterans. The best stocks are youngish. Cripps is peak for soundness and experience. And is playing as coached, albeit in March. Cerra is still young and new to the list but can get it and use it. Kennedy has been inconsistent for years and has seemed to lack physical confidence. He looks ripe. And George Hewitt works for a living.

Sam Walsh often looks to me like he could during any game emerge as the best player in the AFL.

Tom De Koning is youth, now, in 2022, AFL class. And forms a perfectly adequate ruck duo with the mature Pittonet.

Jeremy Mc Govern's brother has been petulant on the rare occasions he was not injured. And challenged well beyond his limited but definite gifts during a career that so far demanded he perform in a role beyond him - as a forward. He plays back now. And looks very good when he's not having tantrums. And sometimes even when he is.

Docherty looks great. And that leaves Saad and Williams to bat down the order. Tall backs are still an issue. If Wietering were to put on 5kg it would help. Not a strong player when it's in the air.

Harry McKay is sound. And fit. And it would be fair to say that just as Emma Murray launched Richmond to success Kate Bradbury has done so for Harry. Maybe the healed injuries and experience helped too. Ripe playing stock.

Charlie Curnow is now sound and lacking only in match practice. He was busy against a modest opponent this week.

The Blues are screwed down. Fully fit. Primed. In March. There's a little bit of ambush going on.

But their playing stocks are sound. Are screwed down. And are learning to play good football. Improvers in 2022. Top eight likely? I think red and white odds.

Ball bounces off Georgiadis chest ..... mark paid pathetic umpiring he guessed then.

Justice he missed.

Yesterday's man Hinkley? If Kochie had any idea he'd have sacked him years ago. Instead, like a helicopter parent, Kochie threatens grandly and then makes Hinkley a pop tart.

Sydney is very interesting. Geelong is interesting.

For years the Cats have been too conservative with the ball and with their running. Five years plus. All Scott induced. And they are vulnerable to sides that play winning football, sides that run toward goal and use toward goal and put team mates rhgouh (sic).

I hate the way they play. And I blame not just the coach but the grandstand commitment. The need to not fail. To keep offering plausible promises to the paying public.

The Cats are no worse this year than last. Maybe a little bit better if they can keep Duncan, Smith and Selwood sound. Ratugloea is nowhere near as useless as usual. And Close is an improver. This is not a premiership squad without emerging children and there are no emerging children as at March 2022. But they can pay for the stand. So Scott stays.

If they miss one repayment the repo guy starts with Scott. Two missed repayments could hurt Wells.

Buddy has only won 2 has you state TM. Sadly the comparison with Buddy andJR8 falls short. Don’t know what the future holds but in NRL terms JR will ultimately become a legend deservedLy so however Buddy will be ultimately accorded as an immortal. Others have correctly suggested he will be the last 1000 goal scorer
Premierships require all of team performance. Goal tallies are individual performance.
Buddy is roughly 300 goals ahead of Jaaack n Tommy Hawk for an almost identical number of games played. In an era of defence dominated football he's head and shoulders above this next two. Compared to the all out attack mode of previous generations he's miles off the goal per game tallies of Plugger, Piggy, Yaaabbbblettttt etc.
Been an extraordinary career from the Budwah n all kudos to him.
