Round 2 - changes to the team. Richmond v GWS

IMO We have one potential advantage against GWS. Just the one, given our outs.
Our rucks.

Not sure why RCD (who I still dont think will be much more than a C Talent player) isnt playing. We need more pure mids, even the younger less talented ones, in the squad than Maurice Rioli.

Not sure about RCD, the bruised ribs might be an issue. If not, then he should be looking elsewhere and, if we don't pick him, we shouldn't have him on the list.

Surely the MC are taking the *smile*. I love what MRJ may become but he hardly has VFL fitness let alone AFL. Will be done by half time.
What has happened to this club? Id be giving Brown or Sonsie a run before MRJ or Parker for that matter.
If Aarts gets another game then we deserve to lose. People talk about a cliff but these decisions of late shows we have fallen off more then a cliff and we may not get up again for a very long time.

They’re a strong team despite who we have out it won’t surprise me we are 0-2 after this game

Wouldn't surprise me if MRJ plays. Our tackle count and inside 50 tackle count were deplorable last week and we are too slow on transition with the extra big boy up forward.
At one point last week Docherty was running he ball out of our F50 & we had 2 blokes chasing him, Nank & Soldo, i felt sorry for them. It was clear at that stage we were 1 tall too many & with Jack out that'll help (as we haven't brought another tall in). When Jack is back we'll have a decision to make if the 1 less tall works out better for us, surely we can't go in so tall again.

Can’t believe they’ve selected MRJ on the extended bench.
I really can’t fathom their thinking here.
Think we’re in trouble

Looks like Martin won't be lining up against GWS.
Apparently has some personal issues he is dealing with and the Club is giving him the space to deal with them.

It's old news apparently ... carrier pigeon got lost on the way to my far flung place.

That is exactly why he’s on the extended bench. Lynch, Riewoldt, Soldo, Nank, Balta…. all going through the forward line at various points of time leaving us way too tall, and relatively unable to lay a tackle upfront as a result.

Generally, the team is too tall and slow right now. Last nights game gave me the shivers the way it was played. We aren’t set up to play with that speed and movement right now.

Carlscum forward line last night was McKay 204cm, Curnow 193cm, Silvagni 194cm resting forward Dekoning 203cm compare that too
Riewoldt 193cm, Lynch 199cm, Balta 194cm resting ruck Soldo 204cm
IMHO it’s not about being too tall in the forward line Carlscum play very tall in the forward line but it’s their mids and flankers that bring the heat on the opposition ball carrier Whereas atm our mids are nowhere to be seen

Hardwick says we are at our best with 2 ruckman but that was 2019 and 2020, prior to the stand rule.

Just can't play them both now. Need to rotate Nank and Balta through Ruck/forward. We are slow enough as it is without carrying the extra tall.

Good to see Ross & Graham named on the ball.
Cotch almost done, Prestia with chronic injuries & clouds over Dusty's future..we need to see if these young guys are any good in these prime roles now.
If not? It will require list changes.

Jeese Hogan might be slotted in prior to the game to play his Annual Blinder against the RFC.
His contract is
I Jessie Jon Hogan sign to play for the Greater Sydney Giants for only 1 game a season and the opponent must be a team that wears some yellow.

Can't believe Stack is not in our best 27 or so
I think he is but they are making a statement that you can't come back to pre-season out of shape and expect to play round 2...unless he shows his fitness has greatly improved and the numbers back that up, it might not matter how well he's playing
