Geez Warner is having a game.
Bombers are poor defensively, getting carved up by Sydneys run. I had a small hope they would fire up and beat the swans but very hard to see it happening on the current display. Gonna need some assistance from the umps.

Bummers get a run on, take the lead, but here come the flogs!!! 9-15 for the Ducks....it's building.
They really don't like paying holding the man. This is why there are so many frees awarded against a player reacting to being held when the ball is miles away. If they adjudicated holding the man properly these issues wouldn't happen as often.
That said, even with the woeful standard of umpiring we see now, that one was a shocker.
I just cannot understand why the AFL thinks it is a good idea to claim it was fine when it was clearly wrong. Just means we all have even less respect for umpires, those who make the rules, those who decide how the rules are to be interpreted and the AFL.
